First of all, I want to thank everyone here for being so helpful. I have lived on this site for the past 2 weeks, reading every thread and studying everything that could go wrong with my SPEED before I buy it. You guys have made me much more confident in buying this.

My plan is to order it Tuesday, I just need clarification on a few things... (I know some of this is covered in other posts, but not directly, so please bear with me)

1) The drop test: Why do you do it? I know it is supposed to calibrate SENSI but how so? And will I need to do it every time I turn the gun on?

2) Is a new low-rise really necessary if I'm not shooting long strings? (I'm a front player)

3) For a person who doesn't know much about air pressure input and bolt pressure, will I need to know much about it to calibrate my SPEED?

4) Will any/all of these questions be answered by the manual?!?!??

Thanks again to everyone here, I'm sure your advice will be helpful to me when I get my SPEED

ok first i hope you're ordering through MO's

1) the drop test tells you if sensi is working and is not ever neccesary to do unless you think your sensi is malfunctioning. the drop test does not calibrate sensi

2) a new low rise is not neccesary unless you use a halo-b

3)all you need to know is that your output pressure of your tank needs to be below 850psi in order to keep your velovity below 300fps. a low pressure or adjustable tank is reccomened but not completely neccesary

4) WDP did an excellent job in answering common questions in the manual but will not answer questions about aftermarket products such as the low-rise.

order through MO's, get an eggII

2) I believe High Rises enbale you to make longer strings, so unless your using a Halo I dont think there is any need for a lowrise.

Right there is a very uneducated statement, and I think you should ignore it. There's nothing wrong with a halo-b on a speed. Plain and simple. I used a halo b on the stock rise with no problems. IF you're a front man, it's always a good idea to create a smalle profile. You will achieve this with a low rise.
Anyways......

The first question you asked is answered and explained in the manual, I'm positive you will need no help in that once you get your marker.
Calibration is discussed at the sticky in the top of the speed section.

yes. uneducated. i edited it out. lets let the huge halo/evo arguement die.

if you want a hopper then make up your own mind yourself.

Man skel sure burnt your buns...
1 and 3 will be answered in your manual. 2 has been answered already, but here I go. You do not need a low rise. There has been some complaints of people having too much pressure on the ball stack and having breech breaks with the halo. They have also said that with a low rise those problems were eliminated. There are some others that have had not probs with the halo. Make your choice or get an egg2 w/y-board. That will solve all problems right there.

Sincerely,

The jabbster

Yea I was planning on buying the Egg2
anyway (smaller profile)

Also I'm not buying from Mo's, the owner of the store/feild I work at (www.stamfordpaintball.com) is ordering one for me, why would Mos be better?

Thanx again to everyone!

if you order through your field you will not get a lifetime warranty, and if you ever need a certified angel tech to do work, it will prolly run you 50 bucks an hour, unless you have a warranty. Also I dunno if you have tried both hoppers, but an Egg has a larger profile. It sticks up much higher too. A halo with low rise is as tight as you can get.

Halo's seem much fatter to me, and if you play your bunker right, your hopper could be 3 feet high and the oponent still shouldnt be able to see it. And Halos are mad ugly battery whores, and changing batteries on them sucks.

20,000 shots off 6 aa's isn't considered a battery "whore" in my opinion....
As far as I know, you will recieve a warranty card from anywhere you purchase a speed new. The reason you want to purchase from Mo's paintball or Angel-parts, is because you get good benefits along with great service. Mo's gives you 2 free tune-ups per year, and Angel-parts offers you unlimited tune-ups. Just something to think about.
