I'm not sure you can do pure white, but an off-white or a light gray should be possible.

why is that? isnt the dye ultra-light pure white? what complications are there?

Not sure, I've never seen the pure white Dye Ultralight. Send me a link if you know of one.

The main thing is white dyes are rare. You'd probably have to use some weird chemicals.

this little number is EXTREMELY rare and will set you back a good thousand.

Isn't that called platinum?

i'm not sure. it might be, but i think it is what e-hose is looking for. so it answers his question that you can have a white anno. (even if its called "platinum") it doesnt look silverish to me. i've never seen one myself though

My friend has a Dye reflex cocker in that color and it's more like a silver dust color than white.

A somewhat white ano apparently exists but is extremely expensive. Most "white" ano is usually a very light silver ano over a dusted base. When the light hits it correctly it looks white.

Pure White is not possible. Ask any anno company. You can do a very light gray (like that dye) but not a REAL white...

i wonder why that is? wouldnt u just have to anodize withought adding any other pigment to the coloring substance?

I don't know the real complicated details. Somebody explained it in the past- if you really care ask PK or somebody who does a lot of annodizing....

well in that case, you can always use white spray-paint.

i see what you mean. this dark cocker is really "pewter"

btw, did you want a gloss white or like a flat white

I think the DYE cocker in that picture is powdercoated. Could be wrong though. Powdercoating is the cheapest way you can get a pure white. You can also get some sort of reflectice powdercoating that looks just like annodizing and is a lot more durable. This guy has done pure white and it looks pretty good:

I know DYE also used to do a "clear" anno that was really close to white. Nothing pure white though.

Here's what a white-ish angel looks like

look at K&P customs. they can do what your looking for.

I don't know who did the milling on that. All I know is that is was a European who milled that Angel during a tech class. Picture is probably about two or three years old.

The "white anodizing" you see is platinum dust, they get it by sand blasting it, doing a clear anno and then sandblasting it again. You can also get white powder coat, but that stains very easily and would be really dirty after like a month of play. My 2k2 timmy looks like it is white, it is just dust clear anno.

No such thing as white annodizing. Someone asked about it in a paintball mag, pb2xtreme I think, they put in calls to some of the better known customizers and they said white dye doesn't exist. There is however a Beadblast and Clear Ano combo that looks white. I think maxanodizing does it.
