Go with the HP there the way to go. Run it at about 500psi.

why do you want to run the air system at 500psi? do you get better air efficiency? i run my air system at about 700 because my buddy set it up like that. so is there going to be much difference if i lower it to 500?

Generally, you're looking for at least a 200 psi drop between systems (tank-minireg-LP) to minimize the potential for shootdown. You can have a bigger pressure gradient but a lower one may affect performance, especially during rapid firing. A HP MaxFlo will permit you to get in the appropriate range for an Angel. The LP version is made for LP guns and won't work well with a stock Angel unless you gut the minireg or use a gas-through grip. (I'm inferring this from my experience with other guns. I've never measured the output pressure of my minireg but I presume it's in the 325 psi +/- range.)

so what you are saying is that if your tank output is 500 then your minireg should be at about 300 and your lpr is at or below 100. that would be about 200psi difference between! does this make it more consistent to lower your output pressure of your tank?

Not necessarily. If the pressure gradient is too small it can be detrimental but a pressure gradient greater than 200 psi doesn't necessarily hurt. There's a school of thought that if you don't maintain a larger than necessary pressure gradient your regs don't have to "work as hard" to maintain the right pressure. There are a number of other factors that affect consistency so make sure you look at those too.

"i see", says the grasshopper. so less air output puts less strain on the reg but not enough can starve the marker. i will have to mess with the output pressure. it is pretty consistent already but i don't want the balls to arch so much. i know that angels do that but it is pretty bad.

just a note to eyecare... as a referee with generic paint at discount price i am currently shooting $9 per minute. kind of scary
p.s. love the signature

There are quite a few threads on Angels and arching.
Make sure your dwell, LPR and snap ring are set correctly.

I use my input from the tank at 650, i dont know what my input from the reg is, seeing how i just change it to get the right velocity
