thnxs.,., well, a week or so ago i was playing, but i chopped cuz my dam ricochet feeds 2 slow, and i was trying to walk it REALLY fast.... and who, as i was cleaning it ... i closed the breach back up put the hopper on. and the 1st few shots were disintigrated.. IT was like a blue mist in the air.... not to mention i couldnt hear anything of how loud it was.... i open the breach back up ,,, and the paint was worst than a CHOPPED ball, it was everywhere, and it went down into the ram,, alot,, i "disintigrated" several balls.... so as i was looking at the breach to figure what was wrong, my freind pointed out to me, " wheres ur bolt...?" ... needless 2 say. its stupid. well this ties in bcuz, THE ram is BLUE, and everything inside of there, so i took q-tips and cleaned it best... I talked 2 Emmit on AIM he helped me. I just wanted 2 know what other guys thought. So i take it as i shouldnt try to get the ram out to clean it... i would do it... i dont really feel like taking it to my Local shop and having them do it.. thxs guys.... TH EVILCOCKA!!! .. ok.. no..

You can take the ram out and clean it. It will give you better access to clean the chamber in front of the ram (long handled qtips work for me). After you clean it off use Love grease on the orings and follow the manuals proceedure for re-installing.

i have herd bad stories with the shims rusting like in the 2001 and 2002 angels. is this true? and has there been any reports of this happening to the speed?

I don't think this is a problem if you don't play in the rain? That couldn't be to good for your gun anywase, but Maybe condensation could cause rusting? I wouldn't know, mine is only 2 weeks old.

The shims and the spring washer stack are exposed to the dangers of the outside world through a small bleed channel, which would be hissing if the LPR leaked. Check the assembly picture for extra information.

The in-line Minireg is of a similar construction, with slightly different components due to the different pressure range. Both regs are of the flowing-through plunger type, and have a safety bleed vent in them.

If you're worried about the regulators' ferrous metal parts (shims/springstack) rusting, give them a very light coat of light Love Juice oil or a similar protective lubricant every yearly maintenance, or if it's been accidentally sinked in water. Just be careful with the seals and surfaces inside the regulators, or let a certified tech do the cleanup.
