Speed Ano

Ive noticed that the Blue dust ano is way different between guns.

My Speed (9553) is like dark, ocean blue, where as my other friends(7500 or 8500,forgot...) is like light sky blue.

Anyone else notice a color difference?

And for your question i have not noticed a difference because my blue speed is the only one i have seen in person. I have seen many on the net but i would assume the changes are lighting. Mine will look very dark sometimes and very bright sometimes depending on the light. Were you sure that your friends and your speed were in the same lighting?

It could be that different batches got annodized differently, see if you can find a number really close to yours and try to tell the difference then.

i havent noticed that but.... my mini reg that came with my gun is a totally different color from the rest of the gun, it gets on my nerves

yea...i have noticed it to...the barrel is also a dif color. Just differnt batches i guess!

Man if it were me and I got three different Anno colors... that puppy would be back at WDP and getting consistantly annoed. You don't drop a ton of money and have your car be three different shades do you?

They are trying to rush this **** and if it continues you may see serious problems.

Well you're lucky! My **** is cool cept for the damn reg.... It's not TOO bad though, just a little mismatch. Still think it should be taken more care of being that it's $950. Oh well...

Why call? The anno process is effected by many different factors as it progresses, and when thousands upon thousands of parts are annoed at once, little errors can happen.

Also, Talfuchre, why would you bother shipping your gun all the way over to england (apprx. $50-75 one way), just so one part can be changed. Also, WDP does not take guns back, especialy for something as trivial as a mismatched color on one part....

hey smart a$$, what i meant by that is that there can be a off black that sort of looks like a gray or maybe even a brown. i have seen it before.

I have a dust blue speed as well, and I notice that the feed tube, breech, frame, and grips are all different colors. Now i know it isnt a big deal and I can easily live with it, but i am in the same boat, I think you spend a grand it should look like a grand as well as performing like a grand.:clap:

I bet the guy in charge of the Blue Anno process is a drunkard... :throwup6:. The days he comes in drunk, you get the light blue... On his sober days, you get the dark blue... And hangover days, your lucky if you get blue.

Get in touch with whomever you purchased your from speed first before contacting WDP. I'm sure the problem can be resolved really easy.

no the prob can't be resolved easily. I emailed TAG to let them know that I did't want a mismatched blue one, and all the ones they just got are unmatched, so I am getting black instead. This is all WDPs fault. I have seen the guy down the street who does anno in his garage do a much better job. You would think that for a grand apiece they would get the frickin anno perfect but oh well....... Anyways, sorry Mooshoo I guess we won't be having the same exact setup. :doh:

WDP should expand into the US, and make some angels over here. They should be albe to afford it because I don't think it costs nearly $1000+/- to make an angel so you know they are making mad profit.

It probably costs less than $300 to put an Angel together at the factory... They are nice though so I can see why they cost so much.

Well people not to burst anyones bubble... But there are about 100 reasons why WDP or any other company should make their products here in the US. Let me educate some of you here. I am a economy buff... The US has more taxes, higher minimum wage, more expensive everthing... If you followed some of our countries problems you would see that over-seas trade is killing us. If we could stop it we would. There have been around 5 huge companys that have moved out of the US in the past year. They either go to mexico, china, japan or some 3rd world country that has no economy and is happy to have anything. Read about this, it is everywhere. Large companys can increase prodution, increase revenue, and decrease the cost of labor. That is why WDP will not move their production to the US. Hope that is not too much for you guys...

or it because wdp is a british company. the US is obviously the extreme majority of their sales. still, it is a british company.

yes, i have noticed very significant color changes, my friend has one of the first speeds and his is much darker than mine. also me endcaps are a different blue

and jabbster I wasn't saying that it would be extremely beneficial for wdp to expand into the US I was just saying we are the majority of the market for them and they make mad profit anyways so they should. That way it would be easier to market their products to US customers and not have to deal with customs and such. Yeah labor is more expensive but they make plenty of money on these things. And WDP touts quality, so I don't think they could rightfully start using cheap labor in Mexico to make angels and still charge such a high price. Part of what we pay for is good workmanship.
