View Full Version : Proceedure for running the Speed Low pressure?

I am sorry if this is a repost but I swear I could not find my answers anywhere. I understand that I put on a large volumizer on the HP end and that lowers my operating pressure.
But that leaves me with many questions.
1) Does this drop change your LPR pressure and if so do you have to change that back to 82 psi?
2) Do you or can you lower your input pressure using your Mini reg or how does that go on?
I guess if someone could simply explain the step by step process I would be much appreciative.

1. Attach volumizer
2. Lower Mini-reg pressure/LPR Pressure if you want/Dwell if you want
3. Shoot people on the other team and people you don't like.

Okay Moony This seems a bit simplistic. But when I attach the volumizer does that make my FPS spike therefore making me lower my input pressure.
How do I know what pressure to lower my LPR to?
Lost on the principle here.

Ok bro, since the volumizer allows you to run the speed at a lower pressure because there's more available volume for a larger volume of air because it's at a lower pressure. I'd keep your LPR pressure at a little lower than stock, but no need to touch it if it's working fine. Just lower your actual input pressure from your mini-reg (or adjustable tank if you gutted the reg) and play on. It will make your FPS jump because you're allowing more air into the actual gun by adding the volumizer. Basically, just lower your input pressure, so you use just as much gas as before (by mass) but at a lower pressure and therefore at a higher volume. Understand the principle now? All a volumizer is doing (hence the name) is allowing you to increase the volume of air in your marker at a lower pressure so you use the same amount of gas and propell the ball at the same speed but at a lower pressure because "supposedly" you get a quieter gun and less ball breakage. There you go:)

I do get it. Thanks bro.
I am giving you some Karma for that post.

ok, so how do u get the lpr down to the advertised 66 psi or down around there so u can really eliminate chops? or can u only take it down to a little below stock?

No,Keep the lpr up where it's suppose to be.Just lower the input pressure to about 180-200 instead of 350-400.Bigger volume and less pressure.------------Mark

good call man... all thats going to happen is the gun will be like they all said... you must adjust your output pressure to a nice low number... ed poorman has his running from 200-300 psi

thank you moony! Finally someone who understands that the same air is used per shot, high or low pressure. Man moony you were not in on the other thread we had, but not naming names I will tell you that there are some dumb people on this board who are dead set in their unprovable theories. Karma for you!

Ok, i also have a question about low pressure and volumizers...
If i put a volumizer on my speed, will this increase or decrease my air consumption? I definetly need to get a lot of shots from my 68cui AIR cause playing Back!
If anyone has an idea of getting more out of less...please let me know :)
Thanks

how do u measure the pressure in the lpr?

A guage on the LPR side up front (I think)

Arnaud there has been so much vicious arguing recently about whether or not an LP speed will get less shots than a HP speed. While some idiots say yes, I say NO and here is why. A LP speed will use a greater mass of air per shot, but it is at a lower pressure, so the pressure used per shot should be equal to a speed that uses less air but at a higher pressure. As long as the guns are both shooting at the same velocity, they will both use the same amount of air per shot. If you wanna read more about it, search for the thread called LPR Usefulness

And I said thank you moony because he just said the same thing that I have been arguing with a bunch of morons all along on this subject.

OK Badger, thanks for your help, i'll look in "lpr usefullnes". I am still waiting for my 68 cui but i could ask for a 88 cui instead, i'm in time. I don't want to get short on the field while playing 7 and i'm so afraid 68 cui might go short for me ( i go with 9 pods in the back + the loader...). I was goingo to play in Toulouse with it fixing a preset...but instead i'll play with an Impulse Python. I prefer to wait until the AIR arrives :P

but will 2 of them work better than 1 or does it just look cool with 2

Arnaud, If you set up your speed nicly and have it tuned right you should be able to get 9 pods and a loader out of it. Thats it though. The speed advertises 1450+ shots out of a 68/4500 at 290 fps.
Loader=200
9(pod-140) 900+360
Total=1460
Make sure you get a full fill though that is filled slowly so as not to let the pressure drop because it got heated up a lot while filling.

Ok, hope i'll be able to shoot those 9 pods + loader, i know it can seem a lot, but once i got short of paintballs and that surely fu#"ed me a lot. Wouldn't like to see this happening again but getting short of Air :/
My Python does shoot more than this :)
Hope she'll do fine in Toulouse :)
