Hi.

I just sold my cocker, tank and hopper and i got $$ in hand.

I ordered a silver dust speed, clear halo B and a set of chrome twisted volumizers.

What tank should i buy for it? (my area has only 3000 psi filling)

68/3k preset high pressure (800psi)
68/3k preset Low pressure (450psi)

Thanx for your input you all knowing folk!

The LP one, much, much better for the gun with those volumizers.

I would get a 68 4500 LP from crossfire or something because the resale on 3k tanks is basically nothing and you'd end up saving money going with the 45. Plus, if your shop ever does upgrade to 4500 you're set to go. It's not much more expensive to get the 4500 over the 3k psi.

The technical thread says that anything up to 900psi is ok for a tanks output pressure. I would think at that pressure dwell would have to be dropped very low to get under 300fps. How would a 750psi output go? thats the output of the tank Im getting. Would dwell have to be dropped to below 10?

well man i had a 68/3000 pure energy on my speed before i got my lp crossfire and i couldn't get it below 320 fps even with dwell set to 8ms but people do say u can get it below 300 with a hp bottle but i couldn't do it so i suggest a lp and on the 750 u might be able to like i said with my 850 prest i got it down to 320 so maybe the 750 will get it there hope i helped peace

thanks, hopefully will be able to get it below 290 because thats the chrono 'on' velocity at alot of tournies in Australia.

The technical thread says that anything up to 900psi is ok for a tanks output pressure.

But its not. I could barely keep under 280 and the mini reg DOES NOT LIKE being set that low- in other words, my shots were inconsistent as hell.

Got an LP maxflo and I'm in heaven- but a LP crossfire would do fine.

i just wanted to congrat you on your new gun and hope it works out well for you. I'm thinking on either a speed or new shocker for my backup to my ir3. tell us how it goes.

I'm shooting with a High-Preset thank from Warped (The PMI Ones)

Took a couple shims out, and it's shooting 285 with the minireg nearly turned all the way down though.

I'm going to get an AKA Sidewinder reg on it though (a couple people i know have been using em on their speeds w/ high-set tanks, and been working fine)

But yeah congrats on the new gun, and to back everyone elses opinions go with the LP ;)

I hope you love your new gun, I know I do. I would suggest ebay and you can get a lo-p crossfire for really cheap. High-p is ok, but like it was stated before, it will not be quite as consistent when your minireg is turned all the way down. Also, I would suggest 4500psi, You can fill a 4500psi to 3k psi, but you cant fill a 3k to 4500 psi. Also, most tourneys will have 4500 psi anyways. Your area will soon upgrade, as will all of paintball. 3k psi will become absolete soon. For the price it would take to get a sidewinder you could upgrade to a lo-p crossfire 4500 psi. The minireg is extremally consistent (+/- 1 or 2), so there is no need to change.
Hope this helps.

Here is a link to a good deal on ebay that I found for you. It is a lo-p Crossfire 68/45. Perfect for what you need. And for around $100 BUCKS YOU CANT GO WRONG!!! The tank is almost new, as it was first hydroed in '02. I am in no way affiliated with this auction, I simply am trying to show you the way. This is the best deal on a tank you could find!!! Hope this helps.
