You should be fine if the gun shoots ok, all that seemed to happen is your board reset. If you are worried about for serial number, i think you can reset it with the data link kit.

true, but i dont have the data link kit, i guess that it kind of is a good thing that it reset all the shots and stuff lol, my sht counter is at 0 lol but i was kind of planning on selling my gun soon and it WILL NOT be easy to sell a gun with a serial number of 000 000 but the data link kit will fix this?

yeah it's kinda weird that if you unplug the board from the battery it seems to reset sometimes. I unplugged my IR3's board when I was giving it a full cleaning and service, and I started getting the shot counter messages again. Kinda weird since I'd already gotten all the low count ones, and I was getting close to getting the Escorts message....now I have to wait before I'm aloud to call for an Angel Escort :(

Yes, with the data kit you can reset all the board info to whatever you want as long as it is an LCD. You will have to use a 3rd party software (SexyAngel, Bue LCDm etc..) to reset the info through.

Just an FYI

You have to buy the link kit, which comes at a hefty price. Then reprogram the setting's via computer. If you don't have a link kit, I wouldn't buy one just to reset the id. Borrow one, if you know someone who has it. It's not worth spending the cash.

Oh and an escort is a high class hooker, but lets stay on topic.

do you think i would have trouble selling the gun if the serial number is 000 000 the serialnumber is still engraved in the breech

I doubt it. Most people care about the condition of the gun, not the id number.

good point....the id number is still in the breech, and on the back of the board so i shouldnt have a problem, do u know what that guy ment by i would have to use a 3rd party softwearr to redue the id number.....

and the id on the board is never the exact same anyway. plus you could tell the person you just put in a new board

wat do u mean its never the same...and if i got a new board wouldnt it have a different serial number

Duracell

No, a new board wouldn't have a different serial number. New boards have a blank id (000000). The serial number (on original board) always has the same last 4 numbers as the number on the breech and body.

Cody, It's not really a wise thing to lie to your customer, I would just tell em the board was accidentally reset.

its not always the last 14 numbers, ie. my says 186141 and my number is 16141

i know its not wise, but really they would be no way for him to say that you didnt replace it, even if it did go bad

One of our LCD's developed the same problem some time ago. Aside from zero's showing for the cycles and ID, we have to reset the dwell and MROF to what's needed/wanted each time its turned on which gets old, otherwise it works fine.

Resetting everything w/Datalink -(ON THIS PARTICULAR GUN)- will hold the newly input data only until the gun is turned off. Then all is back to defaults and zero's when turned on again, I'm assuming it has a bad board.

It's not a big deal but if it ever gets sold, I'll first put in a new board with a "guess" as to the cycles and then explain to the possible buyer the situation...
As another mentioned, most buy according to the condition vs. the cycles anyway.

If you have a Datalink you can borrow from someone, so much the better, but otherwise it's relatively inexpensive, only $70.00 or so and the software is free. You'd have it then to use as needed if you lost the free use of one.

Hopefully yours, being reset w/Datalink, will take care of the problem and hold the new info., otherwise it sounds like you may have developed a belly-up board. But they to are fairly inexpensive, roughly only $25.00 for the later board, and $75.00 I think for the earlier ones...

When taking the Angel board out or working on one, static buildup from your body can damage it if you're not careful. It's very similar to working on a static sensitive computer componet. You won't even realize that you have any static buildup unless it's substantial, it doesn't take much to damage a componet.

Beore you reach in and start handling the board, simply reach over to something that's grounded and touch it to drain the static buildup from your body to eliminate the charge from going into the Angel board.

cq160 - I recently had the same problem where my board would lose all the setting when shut off. I could set them with the datalink and it would work but once I turned it off, I lost them. Try this, it worked for me:

Connect the datalink and start the program provided (not sexy angel)
Hold the trigger and turn your Angel on. Do not release the trigger. Then while your holding the trigger in one hand with the other hand go to the datalink program and tell it to receive the info from the Angel. Once it receives the stuff, press the factory defaults button in the software. Send the data back to the angel. This fixed mine.

Hi Wolverine,
Thanks for the tip. I tried what you suggested, then I played around and tried some other misc. combinations. Still the same situation.
It must just be a fried board. I need to just get another. I just keep dragging my feet because it still works OK otherwise. I hate to have it out of commision for the week or two. When it quits completely and is dead in the mud, I'll have no choice...
I appreciate your taking the time to offer the suggestion.
