Anyone have tips on how to get this thing off without scratching the body or tube? Yes Ive done a search, Ive tried using a hair dryer and I will never put my gun into the oven or boil it in water to get it off.

Use a blow torch or heat gun and a strap wrench.. it will come right off.

Wouldnt that just ruin the anodizing or something.

nop... the heat gun I would say is probably a better choice. Ronnie at mos has used a blow torch on some feed necks before, it didn't do anything to the ano.

Good Lord this is impossible. cryptonomicon- do you know how long he kept the blow torch on for?

hmm not that long.... first of all are you using a strap wrench? they help sooooo much. If it doesn't have the loctite that needs to be heated, the strap wrench would take it off alone.

make sure your putting it on the right way so that when you twist off it tightens up.

for mine i took one of those all rubber flat bungie cords and a adj. wrench, i just wrapped the bungie cord around it and grabed it with the wrench and pulled like hell a few times and it came off. if u have loctite ide heat it but just remember that rubber melts

i just wrapped my tube in tape and then put it in a vice and the just took it off by spinning my gun

I would go with the strap wrench.

Wrap a layer of duck tape (with a lot of wrinkles in it) around the feed neck to give the strap wrench some bite.

Use a blow torch for 10 - 15 seconds and give it a shot.

Ok i had this issue as well. i tried boiling water, tried sitting it in front of a heater. it wouldnt budge. I also tried a strap wrench, and being old as it was it broke. But the feed tube stayed. in the end i tried my mousepad.... IT CAME OFF!!! so yeah, garb your mousepad, wrap it around (using the grippy neoprene underside) and twist. you get a huge grip with them.

maybe the mouse pad did it all but i would assume that your strap wrench and other things may have losened it for you. Good idea though.

well thats what i thought too but a friend had the same issue and no strapwrench, so they tried, and it worked. maybe its fluke, but it worked for us.
p.s its quite possible that this might not work for anyone else ever, but next time you have a feed neck issue, it might just be that dirty overused mousepad that does it.
