the other week i was playin some sweet x-ball for the first time and i started shootin 2 or 3 balls at once. i knew right away it was a ball detent but we had just started (any of yall who havent played should try it). after the match i looked at my ball detent to find it was gone completly. but i have to give it to you guys at WDP because even tho i had no detent and was shootin 2 balls at a time some, i had 2, yes only 2, chops with out it. and this was the first time in more than a year ive chopped. great job guys!

but for my question, i havent really seen much about the eclipse ball detent and i wanted to know how people like or dislike them? and what hopper ur using with it?

flash....I recently put an Eclipse ball detent in my IR3. I did it just to try it out, but so far it's got probably about 2 or 3 cases through it, and it seems to be working fine. I'm using the Evlution2 with it. I talked with a couple of guys over at Warped in MS, and they switched to these because it's rebuildable (in less than a minute) and they don't seem to wear out as fast as the other ball detents (at least in their experience) They are only available in chrome, but for $15 you really can't beat it. So far I'm not disappointed in my $15 purchase (except it woulda been nice if it came in black to go with my black IR3). Look at the pic thread on the IR3's I put some new pics in there after the ball detent and a snatch grip (check the last couple of pages) and you can see how it looks on a black marker.

Yeah I recently purchased a Cobra Indestruct because of a dead detent, and the Eclipse looked good too, but no one could give me any firsthand expiriences with it.

now that i think bout it, how exactly would a ball dentent break down and fail,

If its used to much it will get worn down, like a tire.

I swear by the Cobra Indestructdetents. I have them on both of my LCDs. If the Eclipse fang works with a halo b, I might be willing to try one.

A friend of mine has an Eclipse Fang detent on his ebladed cocker, and when he tried my teammates Halo, it pushed right past the detent. So he'd double feed and/or chop depending on how fast he would fire. The fang's nubbin just isn't strong enough to hold back force fed paint. He hasn't had any problems using his Evo2 with the fang, so I'm pretty sure its only the Halo. Go with the Cobra Indestruct!

the only thing about the cocker fang is that there are 2 different ones, a long one and a short one. the long one works with a halo but the short one doesnt. angels only have one size and im not sure if it can take the halo

Eclipse products are high quality. I'm sure if we emailed them, they'd make a new nubbin for the current fang that can withstand the force from a halo b. That would be the smart thing for Eclipse to do and it wouldn't cost them much at all to make.
