View Full Version : Psi question
I just got my brand new high pressure max-flo! And i'm going to get a speed. I was wondering if my reg will work cause it is 600psi+ (i didn't check the limit when i wrote this). I'm hearing these people talkin about their air systems set at like 150 psi so i'm wondering if 600psi will work. Thanx in advance!

im almost positive that an hp max-flo will go under 600 psi, but if it doesnt, you can always lower the pressure with the mini-reg

never mind i looked at box it goes down to 300 thanx anyway lol

High pressure means you can adjust it higher than the low pressure spring.. It doesn't mean its just high pressure.

Although, If you slap on a pair of wdp's 4 inch volumizers then you may want to put in the LP springs into your maxy so that you can get your gun running at an insanly low 180 psi.

Going sub 200 though will not be a simple spring conversion, you would need to convert over to the shocker style, whick is a lil more $$ than a 5 dollar spring. I believe there is another bleeding mechanism and a different fill nipple or something in the shocker version, I could be wrong though, if memory serves me correctly, there is the HP, LP and shocker versions of the max-flo, but you should be fine with a hp though....I think i'm missing some info, can someone fill in the gaps, I'm very, very tired...

Its a different spring... it should have came with both... The bleed off valve is just so if the output goes over 240psi it leaks out since they don't have a secondary reg on the shockers/impulses.

There is also a different piston. I had a low pressure Max flo and the store said that it would be around $50 to switch it to a high pressure tank.

I'm pretty sure your store lied to you- trying to rip you off. It most certainly does NOT cost $50 to take out the PRV and replace the springs...

It takes more than a spring to change a max flo from LP to HP or vise versa.
The HP reg body is smaller than the LP reg body, and pistons will not fit correctly. Here's what u can do:
1) Buy the entire HP reg, built, and just unscrew the 4 screws on the manifold clamp, and swap it in when you want a HP tank, and put the med or high pressure spring in there for whatever range you want. Cost: $70
2) Buy the HP reg body, the HP Piston, and the 2 springs. Switch the components from the LP reg EXCEPT for the springs and pistons into the HP reg body. Cost: $50
