I want to start a discussion on how much does is cost to compete in a major event like the NPPL.
Does anyone bring their own paint? Or do you purchase them from the vendors and/or paint trucks in the area?
How much does paint go for in these major events/NPPL?
Anyone may add their opinions.

I don't know the entry fees and such but I do know that at every major tounrament, or any tournament at that, you must by the paint supplied at the field.

tHa cLiPsE - As far as I know, NPPL isn't FPO (Field paint only) you can use any paint you want.
Most buy the paint from the various vendors at the tourny. But in the past, I have seen people bring their own. Although you usually get better prices at a major tourny than you can from a store, unless you have a sponsor (i.e. the store gives you free or cheap paint from their supply) or buy it at bulk rates (although I still think you'd get a better price at a major tourny).
Most local or regional tournies are FPO.

all the NPPL events are BYOP
last year I played 10man at World Cup figure it out this way
entry $175
paint 3 cases at $35 and 2 cases at $25
so not including travel, lodging, and food etc it cost me $330 to play in World Cup last year.......well worth in my opinion, it was 2 of the funnest days I've ever had playing paintball.

ummm no..that would be why I only played 2 days.hahahaha
when you play with a group of guys you've never met until the day you're waling the fields, it's really not conducive to winning. Add that to the fact that it turned out 1 guy had only started playing paintball 2 months before Cup, and Cup was his first tournament. 2 of the guys hadn't played in over a year (1 almost 2 years the other since the previous Cup)...well needless to say you gel as fast as you can with the people that have skills and talents and well we kind of became a 6man team playing 10man paintball.

So paint wont cost too much in major events? Its really a hassle yo ship/haul your own paint.

we shot the TC Venom for $25, it was supposedly made just for Cup, but it bounced a whole heck of a lot so I switched to Severe for the $35 and that stuff broke on EVERYTHING. I really liked shooting it at Cup. I know it was fresh because the stuff they had brought in for the first couple of days hadn't even finished curing yet. Good stuff.

Yeah tc venom doesn't seem to break well... thats the field paint at ruff n tuff down here, its cheep but i seem to light people up from pretty close, like 20ft, and get bounces. I've seen people get bunkered with that stuff and bounce.

Its more like $175 per person, so that would mean a 10-man team would be $1,750.
