hey, im gonna trade my matirx for a dark ir3(owned by the sniper himself, Jeremy Salms). i was wondering if the Mem3 and cops2 with microswitch is just as good as a mem6 and cops2 with opto. the guy said that you can shoot faster with the microswitch over the opto, is that true? what are the advantages with the mem3 and microswitch over the mem 6 and opto? are there any advantages? please lmk thanks

The mem 6 with opto is the better setup. It uses the opto sensor as opposed to microswitch, which lasts 25% longer, and when set up correctly, opto switches can be mad fast (if you snip a little off the leaf spring, and bend it so it doesn't put as much tension on the trigger, it's actually much lighter and shorter than micro switches. I hit 17 bps with ease now, I couldn't get past 14 with my LCD microswitch) it's the newest software version, which is always good, and when you have mem 6 you can tell all those mem3, 4 and 5 people that you're cooler than them!

the cops 2 is important it works way better than its predecessor.. and the mem6 will be cool i dont see a difference but the microswitch is better a lot of people complain about the opto trigger saying that it has no ability to bounce and max rate of fire can't be as fast as other guns can stuff like that... so...id say its a good deal man

Alot of people complain about the opto trigger because they don't know how to set it up, but if you follow the instructions I gave earlier, your trigger pull will be light and short as hell. I hit ROF's alot higher than I did on my micro switch, and I won't have to worry about my opto trigger going out for a loonnggg lonnnggg time.

i had to adjust my opto trigger a lot before i got it to like give me 14-15 bps.. it took a lot of tweaking and research to get it like that too.. but it is worth it...

OK, I was underthe impression that there are no microswitch boards out there with COPS2. MEM 3 is the newest version of software that is available on the microswitch boards, to get cops 2 you'll need an opto board, which is MEM 4 and above.
The switch isn't bad at all though, and if you want the marker, go for it. But a MEM 6 COPS 2 could raise the resale value if you ever decide to sell it.

i can only hit 14 bps w/mem 3 but w/my friends mem 6, 17 bps is no problem and thats with a different trigger.
I man be wrong but i was under the impression that you NEED mem 5 and up to have any cops. cops only comes with the opto boards. Mem 3B as you say doesnt that just mean the board was refirbished? I have mem 6 and my board went crazy I got a new mem6E.... and that is just a mem3 board that was refurbished to become a mem6 thus the E. anyways thats just my thought on it but then again i have no idea what i am talkin about my gun has never had a problem.. yay impact ir3!:nerd:

Ummm... no.
All iR3s have some version of COPS, be it 1 or 2. Mem 1-3 are microswitch boards. Mem 4 and up are Opto boards. Mem3b is a microswitch board with upgraded COPS software (COPS2). Mem 1 and 2 boards can be upgraded to 3b (highest version available on a microswitch board). All Opto boards can be upgraded to the newest version... 6e, I believe.

Yes, but no COPS. There's no place for the sensor. Also, you'll have to use an LCD board.
Dark iR3. So nice.

HI
dont get me wrong I love the mem6, but I can shoot 20 on my mem2 so that's a load of crap about shooting faster with the Opto. My friend got shot in the grip frame with mem6 and the paint leaked into the opto trigger and it wouldn't shoot after that so that was his tourney over. Be safe stay with mem3.
