LCD backlight

I just got a 2k2 LCD and the backlight on the screen flickers....it never goes out...but it goes between dim and bright. What is up with it, and what should i do to fix it (If it needs to be fixed). Thanks.

does the gun work?

i've seen that happen on an ir3 before and nothing would work, it would also display random characters, the board was fried

Yeah...the gun works great actually. The light, as far as i can tell...has no impact on the performance of the gun...its not burned out either. It just kinda gets bright and dim..but never goes out. Otherwise, there is no impact on the gun. I was just wondering becuase it gets a little annoying. Thanks.

so it doesnt go out at all? not even when its just standing there with no trigger activity? might cause the screen to burn out early, and will drain the batteries much faster, wierd problem though, would probably need an entire board swap to fix, which if it cost allot i wouldnt bother doing

pull out the screen, and put it back in.

sounds like ur screen has just became loose, i'd try wiggling it, or even as dark said take it out and put it back in

my batter is full 3/4 bars, and it was doing the same... i spent all day yesrerday (6-14-03) testing over paintballs for tcpaintballs. i did about 11,000+ shots through my angel in about 8 hours of testing. IT was awesome! my freind did prolly like 8k on his COCKER. but yea, by the end of the day i had many many many chops, and the LCD was acting up.
The angel is ON. and the LCD is completely of. SO i tap/smack the grip and it turns on. but then the b goes from being like

... get it??? thats the b from the mode on the LCD... . so yeaa. that goes back and forth occasionally. The angel was used. but i got it at 0(cycles) . and when its acting up, it also goes into safe mode after a shot or 2. that might happen 2-3 times, then it doesnt do it again. i really couldnt afford that out on the FIELD, those 2 sec of turning the angel on could be the game. ALSO, is the LCD suppose 2 turn on when u SHOOT, like in SAFE , it goes to 000 000 and if u have the the LCD lite swichted on, it turns on. But my the lite sometimes goes with the trigger pulll... click ---ite , click--- lite? it flickers a lil, on off. its wierd...... but now this morning its ok. that was last night after testing all teh paint. i havent charged it in 36,000+ shots but teh batter is 3/4 on the lcd. so thats good i guess.. i did c it go down to 2/4, but then its back at 3/4 w/ out charging... wow this is long so if you guys could plz w/b thatb great, i work today, so ill respond in the night..... maybe like at 10 wen i get back, or earlier.... thnxs ---happy guy who just got his angel.... 3 days ago...:):):)

Get some alcohol, pull out the screen, an use a q-tip dipped in the alcohol to clean off the contacts. Then put it back in and it should be fine.

Take the LCD off the board and look at the 6 gold colored wires that the LCD plugs into on the board. If they are bent or look damaged get a board swap and you should be fine. Otherwise the entire LCD is probably broken which can easily be replaced.

i have 2 tap it 2 get it to turn on.(the lcd lite, and the LCD itself) and also after shooting several shots it'll turn off on me, as in somethings loose and that lil shake off having the Barrel condom on while shooting will cause it 2 shut off. anddddddd , i have 2 sqeeze the grip to get it 2 stay on... so somthing is definitly eating away my angel from the inside... j/k yea..haha

actually it sounds like a fault to me, because he says after a few shots it goes back to safe. check the fault for a code 3 or code 4, if so you fried your board, if not, then try sending it to theangelguy.com if none of the other suggestions have worked

Im having a similar problem w/ my LCD 03. When I turn my marker on, I get the tet screen (all characters lit) then the screen goes blank and stays backlit. But I cant get to to shoot, or anything for that matter. Anybody else have this problem?

squeeze the GRIP where the LCD is at it MIGHT b loose. that sometimes makes my LCD work after it turns off on me, ACtually the 2 lil plastic pins holding the LCD on the board, well one of them broke. snapped.. so thats why mine is loose, i need to get that fixed b4 the tourney is up. k well.. l8er.

You can get the marker into safe and live without the LCD screen so I'm pretty sure you have a fried board.
