My trigger pin fell out the other day so I decided to do some maintance. I noticed the damn cops wire had been chewed up because where it sits, I never bothered to use cops but I guess it works without it ?. I've taped off several sections where the rubber has worn or made the wires exposed before. I'm curious what other people have the same problem.. ?

Its unfortunate they molded the ends of the wires into the plastic for the cops sensor. If I fail soldering the microscopic wire I might have to buy another sensor (cost ?) I won't have much room to work with because where the wire was split was right next to the plastic..

Suggestions ? Alternatives ?

well i superglued my wire in the groove they made for the wire to pass through so it doesnt come off, but seeing as your wire is exposed that might not be too good of an idea for you

Rather than pput a soldering iron right next to the sensor, I'd take the sensor itself apart. If you don't want to solder anyways, see if you can just wrap the old and new wire ends together, then cover up with some electrical tape.

you can also smush some grease into the grove of the cops wire to hold down while you reassemble your trigger frame

The sensors aren't that expensive, like $12-$15 I think. As for the wire repair I wouldn't use a soldering iron that close to the plastic (if the break is were it sounds like you're describing). Try this:
-strip a little of the wire off both ends of the break.
-slide a small piece of heat shrink over the longer end. You should be able to get this at any electrical supply store.
-twist the two ends of the break together.
-slide the heat shrink over the repair and get your trusty hair dryer and apply heat. Much cooler than a slodering iron!
-When you're done place the wire in the grove of the frame and bury it with a little RTV. Coushioned and held in place all at the same time. Not only that but it will be easier to remove than super glue.

Just an idea.

Thanks for the help, good to hear it's not your typical overpriced rare piece. Although expensive for what it is it wont hurt the pocket book. Warped X, it's molded into the plastic unfortunatly although I have a few cm clearance to work with.
