revy?? xboard??

Hi Guy

I have a revy (12v) that I got when I bought my LED second hand. Since then I sold the LED and purchased an IR3, I can get my ROF up to 11 bps. It seem like the revy can't keep up (dry shoots). I have the intellifeed hooked up too.. Should I get a faster revy? How can I see if i have an xboard?

Well it won't matter whether you have an x-board because when you use the intellifeed it bypasses the revvy eye and runs right into the motor. You can tell if it is an x-board by opening up the battery compartment and looking at the battery contacts/board. You should see the words "x-board". I use to run an intlellifeed on my LCD, but now just use a x-board revvy with impellar on my IR3. The thing is that with the intellifeed you are only going to get 6 volts from the gun which means that it spins slower. The upside is that you can control the spinning (i.e spins after every shot) and you don't have to wait for the eye to detect a gap. If you want the best of both worlds (without having to upgrade to another hopper) you can do the G3 mod. Basically the hopper will still use the 12 volts to spin the impellar, but will also respond to the commands from the gun.

If you look on g3pb.com you should find it under "Projects/Tech". This is a do it yourself mod. You will need to get a diode from radio shack (they give you the part number) and solder it to the servo motor. It is all pretty straight forward.
