I have an IR3 that explodes balls in the barrel under rapid fire only.?? even hard paint.
Dwell 20 fire rate 13 cops on or off. It does not chop at all just busts in the barrel when you get on the trigger. Even a loose fitting barrel still breaks balls??
I have had 3 or 4 IR3s befor and worked on a lot of them but cant get thins one to Rapid fire without barrel breaks??
If it was the hopper to slow why arent i getting balls chopped in the neck. With the halo on it, i get bad double feeding and that breaks ball so the halo is not the solution.?
Any ideas? it has the MEM6e board in it.

Dwell of 20!!!!!!!!!! Holy Crap.....that's aweful high. I run my dwell at 16. Your valve is staying open forever and letting a lot air in there. Ram stroke might be off a little bit, or your fit might be too tight.

Try another kind of paint Frist . I had a few bad case's of Evil ,,, well,,,, now that I think about it I've had a few bad case's from every brand of paint out there .........I'm back to RPS yellow Allstar's right now........ And lower your dwell 13-16 this should be fine most of the time..... start there.... but then agian if your hammer's not set right this has been a cause of ball blow........

I'd check the ram stroke, the lpr for good measure. (90-110psi)
Try setting your dwell at 14, its the factory default.
And make sure that you're not using a small barrel with large paint.

Some considerations:
Lower dwell to a more normal setting - you're probably wasting air and may be increasing blowback.
Test your COPS - make sure it's working.
Is there something wrong with your bolt? Check for sharp edges or bad o-rings (if it has any). Stick another bolt in there if you've got one to try.
How old is your detent?

Check out Ken Crane's Ram adjustment in the technical reference section. Written by a master tech, and it could be exactly what you need.

DWELL WAY TO HIGH, GO TO LIKE 11, AND THEN U MIGHT HAVE TO ADJUST UR LPR. 20, DAMN!!!!

i think you got that backwards, the gun would destroy balls without a bolt

I don't think the problem has been sorted yet, I've seen this marker what he meant was that he has tried every setting including slowly bringing up the dwell till he got all the way up to 20 and it still broke paint. I've seen a couple of ir3's with the same problem, glad mine isn't one of them.

well considering the ball doesnt roll back into the breach where the bolt would be, which would completely liquify the ball if you shot, even so it's just getting a completely undirectional and random blast of air, i havent tried it out but it would probably break a ball

I had the same problem and fixed it by buying an evil bolt and an Eclipse detent.
(I'm not exactly sure how that combo fixed it though)
