modes 1 and 2 have a short delay when there isn't enough of a ball stack present.

Modes 3 and 4 have a longer delay.

Modes 1 and 3 will not fire after the delay if there isn't enough weight on the stack.

Modes 2 and 4 will fire after the delay if there regardlessif the is enough weight on the stack.

3 and 4 are best for long strings.
1 and 2 are best for high rof bursts.

Mode 2, I would consider mostlikely to still chop. (I use mode 2 and have never chopped in a game)

Mode 3 would be the most "safe" because the speed won't fire after the longest delay.
