Hello there. My name is Steve, and I'm new to the Angel Owner's Group. I'm in the market for a new (or new to me) marker, and I had some questions. These questions are blunt and to the point, questions I'd ask about any marker that I'm looking to spend (a lot of) my hard earned money on.

1: What makes the Angel unique among other markers with similar function?

2: Is the Angel really that much better than others of similar function?

3: What would be the most expensive replacement part (not including the body) in/on the marker?

Thank you in advance for any answers you're willing to give me.

Steve,

First of all, welcome! I believe you will find this forum to be very imformative and sometimes entertaining. While I am fairly new to the angel compared to most of the folks here, and absolutely no expert on it, my journey to the angel has been through a lot of markers, and a lot of different kinds of markers.

The angel is amazingly simple to understand and maintain compared to some of the others out there. It is well engineered, and by my experience very well made. Right out of the box it will rip with the best of them, and under the care of the right tech, will maintain its splenditude. you will have to get the tool kit and metric allen wrenches, as the english have not seen fit to see the rightness of our measurement system and come back, but that is a small price to pay to do the routine maintenence of the marker.

There are some great upgrades out there for the angel that can be purchased at reasonable prices, but they are optional, and not nessecary.

The most expensive parts are the board and solenoid.

And let's face it, while you can dress up the other markers till your blue in the face, the angel is sexier right out of the box.

My other markers are a shocker, cocker, and a matrix, but I havent played with any of them since I got the angel, and it's just a 2klcd. As we speak I am scheming to work a trade that will get me into an IR3. I am that sold.

Having said all that, a marker is a personal choice, and I would recommend that you shoot a lot of different markers before you spend the amount of money you will spend on any so-called "top of the line marker." Because all these babies take a lot of tlc to keep them in tip top shape, and nothing is worse than trying to baby something you are not in love with.

Thanks for answering my questions, boogerman2u. You said "under the care of the right tech". Are Angels complicated to work on? With the proper allen wrenches and the tool kit, would I be able to change a leaky seal, if need be? Thanks again for your help.

Well, I shot an Angel and a 2002 Intimidator today, just to see if either one fits my style. I must admit, while I liked the intimidator, I loved the Angel. Very consistent, very good feel, and it was very easy to lay down the paint when I needed to. I can definitely see why the Angel is a popular marker.

You should be able to do all your own maintenance Timmee. Not very difficult and as you will see the manual for the range of WDP markers is nothing short of excellent with comprehensive schematics and the like. Honestly speaking, you'll never have to mess with it much. It takes very little oiling as well. As mentioned previously the accessories are mostly cosmetic, nothing you really NEED. Enjoy!

Timmee,

When I said under the care of the right tech, I was referring to giving your angel a once a year tune up. In my experience, the routine maintenence was really simple with the right tools, the maunal, and a little help from this forum. In fact, I feel the learning curve was a whole lot shorter than with most of the other markers I have owned. And I didnt mention how much I love the efficency of the angel compared with my other markers. These babies use less air than anything else I have ever used.
