View Full Version : Huge Volumizers?

As i sit here and wait for the 4 in. wdp volumizers to be released, i wonder why they are limiting it to 4 in.? I see pictures of shocktech intimidators and some of them have lprs on them that are atleast 6 in. See the thing is, these huge volumizers really don't increase your profile that much at all. So why doesn't wdp make a volumizer that is 6 in. long and gets the gun down to 100 psi? Sure your eff. would drop i suppose, but as long as you keep it at around 1000 shots per 68/4500, i'll be happy. At 100 psi your gun would be like a matrix and would pinch paint.
If wdp could have the speed pinch paint; have a great non-chopping eye (sensi); and have a gun that could shoot faster than any other; there would be no reason why the speed wouldn't be the best gun out there.
What is your thoughts and opinions?

100 psi would be firing pressure at the valve and has no effect on pinching paint. LPR pressure is what motivates the solenoid and would need to be less than 40 psi to pinch anyways. Also, huge volumizers look really ghetto.

Seeing as how an Angel is open bolt, I don't think it'd pinch anyways, I think the correct terminology is bounce. The bolt would bounce off the ball, not pinch it. My Viking bounces off paint, the LPR is set at 65-70 PSI. Why would you worry about pinching anyways? Sensi should be doing it's job. I'll live with the stock settings and keep my efficiency.

The lpr is more like a pressure reducer, so the lower you crank your reg, the less pressure would be on the bolt. And having a pinching/bouncing bolt is just a little more insurance. Add in sensi, and you'd be completely worry free.

sensi=good
sensi+ pinching paint (bouncing)=great

yeah but can your run an Angel LPR at less than 40psi? That is the point where most paints pinch consistently. Evil and such are in the low 30s. All this was tested with a cocker btw, dont remember where I saw this test but it was really interesting... Although for angels its not just psi but also voltage applied to the solenoid (ie dwell) which determines the speed of the bolt/hammer so whatever lol...

is it better to use two volumizers or just one?

i believe i read earlier that only the valve side (the left side) will be functional to use volumizers on.

because guys in vegas were getting the Speed down to 130-140 PSI and the gun would cycle just fine- it's just that the valve wouldn't seal. Someone would have to come out with an aftermarket LP valve to go below that.
