Is there any advantages in upgrading the IR3 stock bolt?
I mean, if i put a cobra bolt or something like that, will it make my marker any faster?
If so, what is the best bolt out there for the IR3?

The cobra, or the one I made just like the cobra, increased the velocity by 15 fps, and tighened up the velocity range by about 50%. Ask the r-11 fans about that one, or do the search for it. seek and ye shall find.....

the r11/e-rob(as it is known now) or the bolt that comes in the speed is a nice bolt i've got an r11 in my lcd and i had a speed the bolt is very consistant and you get an even amount of air hittin the ball in different parts w/o losing the lowerpressure/fps stuff.
As for the cobra i can give you my opinion on it after this weekend. I recnetly acquired a cobra ir3 in a trade and from looks it appears to be made very well and fits my gun rather nicely. The delrin that it is made out of is a lil different too, kinda a different feel/look. As for how the single hole is in it, its not a large single hole, well not as large as some.
But if you have the money there is not loss in upgrading you bolt worst that can happen is you put you old one back in.

warning about the Cobra- I recieved one with a bolt pin that was machined a little bit too long. Ended up doing serious damage to my hammer assembly and later had to have it replaced.

upgraded bolts may sometimes require one to get a ram stroke adjustment so it fits in fine... i have an r 11 bolt and it worked fine on my first ir3 but the second one was a very tight fit and would not fit into the breech and click with the hammer.. i needed the adjustment, got it and it works fine now... really well...

As far as making your gun "faster" the bolt really doesn't have anything to do with that. People claim, as has been stated, that the aftermarket single inlet bolts (Cobra, R-11,etc..) give an increase in velocity hence lower operating pressure and improve consistency shot to shot. I have a R-11 in my IR3 and my son has an AKALMP in his LED and we have not had a problem with either. Like with all upgrades the choice is yours to make.

I have used a Cobra bolt on and off again, everytime I use the Cobra bolt, even after i adjust the ram, i chop like crazy. The bolt tends to get stuck in the forward position. I place the stock bolt in, and have no problems. Anybody else have this problem?

Maybe your Cobra bolt is a little bit thicker thatn your stock one. Or it swelled up some on you.
I don't have anything bad to say about my R11 bolt.

one of the lads from my team (keltic warriors) was in vegas and brought me back a system x bolt for an ir3, i attacked it with my dremmel and cut out the groove for the cops sensor and it works a treat! had to dial it down 20-25 fps as it was now shooting hot since i took the original wdp bolt out!
has anyone else tried a system x bolt?
cheers
