from what I understand yes you can do it....just take it down to your local shop they should have all the tools to take care of swapping the regs out

If anyone needs a new 5-year bottle to put their reg on you can get it from RipWiz (http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=115862/) for a reasonable price. Just tell him Eyecare sent you. (No, he won't give you an additional discount and I don't get any commission.) Just passing on info since new reg-less bottles aren't always easy to get a hold of.

Wow, didn't know that Carleton sold direct. Can you just call them up and order a tank or do you have to be a VAR or airsmith? At that price, I could afford to get all my older tanks replaced with the new 5-year ones instead of worrying about rehydroing every three years.

I wrote to both Carleton and to Luxfer. Luxfer sent me a list of distributors. Carleton just ignored my email. LMK if you have better luck.

An 88/4500 stubby? I got to see one of those. I checked out that carleton link, does anyone know the size comparison to a 68/4500? Just curious. Or does anyone have one? :puzzled:
