Not sure if this belonged here or not, so I will put it here and let the mods decide...

Well just a few interesting discoveries I have made recently in my quest to deciede whether or not to use my PBGear.com charger on my new Speed.

First of all - heres PBGears source fore their chargers...

Think they are making a bit of a profit on them?

Secondly, heres a comparison to that charger and the Radio Shack 22-501 that many here seem to use.

PBGear RadioShack

Input: 120VAC 60Hz 19W 120VAC 60Hz 22W
Output: 12VDC 1000mA 12.5VDC 1000mA

Both are class 2 unregulated transformers.
I think I have all the info on the Radio Shack correct, but please feel free to fix anything i got wrong.

Now I have a question for you: are there any functional differences between the RadioShack one and the PBGear one that would prevent its use with the Speed where the RS one can be used? Also, who here uses the RS one with their angel (any model).

Well I think the problem is the unregulated part. If you put a volt meter on the radio shack model depending how your home power is you could end up with 15 volts and fry your board. I know I did on a brand new LCD. This is not covered under warranty (even though WDP took care of my stupidity), for that reason alone I would suggest a WDP endorsed wall charger such as the cobra.

Yes, but realize that this is just an Adaptor, not a charger. It allows you to plug in your car charger into a wall outlet, that is all. The charger will pull what it needs to charge the gun. Simple as that.
