When charging my lcd with the car charger should I start my car and keep it running while charge? The stock board and battery have worked fine so far, what are the chances of either of the two failing anytime soon? Should I got ahead and look into getting a replacement board/battery? Is a revy W/ xboard fast enough since the fastest I can pull is 13 rof. What should I set my dwell at?( I have the lcd on semi mode with a mrof of 20 and I shoot midgrade paint)

If the board and battery are working just fine, then you probably don't need to replace either (the old 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' adage). That being said, I don't know how hard it is to find LCD board/batts, and if they're hard to get, then maybe you should.

As for failure, I would (cautiously) say that you're probably fine for some time. I have had a couple of batteries go bad, one in my LED and one in my Speed. The LED was used by a buddy and wasn't turned off....it sat 'on' for a few months and wouldn't hold a charge after that; moral of the story...turn it off. The Speed battery wore out after about 3 years, and it was a gradual decline in how long the battery would hold a full charge. Keep an eye on that, and (in my experience) you'll have some idea of when to replace the battery.

....if any of this is incorrect/inaccurate, please let me know...

the old 6v batts have a bad memory issue. in the sticky i made theres a link to a RC car company that makes better replacement batts for like 40 bucks i think.

car can be off to charge but make sure marker is on. in all seriousness replace the LCD stock board with one from a ir3/a4/fly and you can still run the 6v battery as the upgraded 4.8v will not power the noid correctly. theres the option of a un1 board and ace/nox/virtue chip all are available at FMA.

settings are in the sticky

hey man i still have all my og parts and im running fine, if you took care of the gun it will take car of you....

hey shibby- didn't the older (late year 02 and up) lcd's have that battery change so there was absolutely no risk of running a memory on the battery?? ( i mean with the NiCaD batteries), i just remember reading or hearing that about my lcd and later....

It was NiMh. They are less prone to battery memory development and you can get one in the 6v size. Had one in my 2k2 Dark LCD.
