I just finish to install my Magno-kit. (i'm probably the first canadian to have it :-) )
And i just want to tell that the air efficiency is very impresive.
I have a 45/4500 with 1500 left and i do all my pressure test. a lot of dry shot and i shot 2 full velocity before runing out of air.
Tomorow morning i will go to the field and test it with a full fill.
If someone else have install it can you tell us what is you opinion.

I have the chance to live on the border. So i have a U.S. and a Canadian adress :-) The U.S. post office is 15minutes from my home.
So i have the best of both world :-)
And to do a better review. This morning i have try it and with my 45/4500 fill at 3000 a can shoot 750balls. So with a 4500 i will hit the 1000. I think that it's very good.
For the recoil. I notice a good difference. With that kit, only the DM have less kick than the Angel.
And for the noise i must tell that there is no difference. But i dont know why someone can care about the noise of his gun.
So now with this kit i can tell that i have the best gun that money can buy.
And i can tell you that it's very tuff to be a Angel fan in Quebec but now nobody can tell anything about Angel. I have the best air efficiency. The best (and by far) precision. And the second best recoil.
And for now i'm leaving for a tournement. So it will be the real test this weekend.

My magno Kit arrived on Thursday from Bob, and I went to work and installed it. I threw on the gages and set my mini reg to 200, I had to add 2 shims to my LPR to set it at 54 psi, and I set the dwell to 6ms, to start off with. I was going to shoot two bags through it on Friday before a 3 man tournament, however things got busy, so the first time shooting it with paint was chrono-ing an hour before the tourney (I had that much faith). Over the chrono I was shooting 320, so I dropped my dwell to 5.5 and then dropped my mini reg pressure until I was shooting 285 consistently. I did and still do have an ever so slight leak from the valve (which I am hoping that will go away with some wear). The gun is slightly quieter, there is infact less kick, I kept trying to remember my numbers for air efficency, however it seemed on my 45/45, that I was loosing 800 PSI per hopperful. I never shot more then a hopper and 1 pod (3 man tourney). We finished prelims in first place with 9 wins and 1 loss.
It brought a smile to my face when I was playing center rear in a game, and I could see something coming in and out of view on the opposite center bunker. The player in the bunker was shooting to my left, however It looked like he was sticking out on his right. So I started shooting at it. After about 20 shots, the ref runs in from the sidelines and calls him out. I had shot the rubber tab on his NXE pod pack that when he pulled a pod it partially stuck to his jersey and was sitting out at a 90 degree angle. The refs after the game were hollering cause they thought it was the funniest thing to go after this tab from all the way across the field and tag it.
The marker was very consistent, I was worried about the precision of the marker, however just before the first game, as I was crossing my fingers, the ref shot my marker over the chrono and had to take a double take, as it shot 285, 289, 289. For a second he thought the 3rd shot didnt register. I never touched the reg the rest of the day, and it was 284 low to 296 highest over the next 5 hours of tourney play.
I brought home my marker and plugged in the gages to give you the final settings my gun was at. The Mini-Reg pressure is sitting at about 185, LPR still at 54, and Dwell 5.5.
its cake to take in and out the valve stem, just use an allen wrench and stick it in the center of the magnet of the valve stem, it will stick to the magnet like glue and you can pull out, or put in the valve stem np.
Hope this helps.

nice review outback thanks for taking the time.
I installed mine and no leaks so far, i need to get to a chrono asap but so far im not really seeing any performance difference between 4.5 and 5.5 dwell so im going to see if i can get away with 4.5 once i get her chrono'd and let it rip a bit.
anyone else try their dwell that low?

Any idea if replacement parts are going to be available over time? I see delrin and think "Ooh, I would hate to see that wear down like the old exaust valve stem and need to buy a $75 replacement for a minor fix."
I still want to buy one... stupid lack of money...
Edit again: Removed part of the post just to minimize any confusion/doubts it could have caused. Thanks GOD jr.

Magnets can be re-energized with a stronger magnet, so I doubt this will be a problem, unless you plan on using your A1 for about 60 years!

"I used search" to no avail, so can anyone tell me what the joy settings are for the new magno kits? mine is coming in today, and I need to have it in peak performance before the weekend.

Jon from L.I.P.S set my gun up for me a couple of weeks when i got my kit, here's what my gun is running at :) I've had no problems so far.
dwell 5.0 m/sec
shot filter 5%
abs 1.25 m/sec
de-bounce 10

That's very odd because the stock settings on the FLY set the dwell to 9.0m/s

I was at 5.5 with my A1+magnos and that worked fine. Wasn't accusing you of being wrong, but just thought it was odd.

But the fly takes an extra 4! Shock horror!
Stock dwell will always come at 9ms this is based on the manufacturer of the solenoid. We have yet to run an A1 or Fly at 1.25 ABS unless something was failing and it was a quick fix.

mine has run at 1.25 since it came out the box, not had any problems with any bolt stick.
joy settings ;) clicky linky

Edit; admittedly there the old settings pre 2.2, but the main settings haven't changed :)
Since the release of the first A1's we have lowered the ABS to .25 and this is why the new software comes preset to .25 Maybe it is an English thing?

After 2 calls to Bob and him straightening me out, my A1 frickin' rips. No drop, quiet as hell. I only had about 1000psi in my tank and I shot 2 pods. I am impressed.
I am just glad we were able to convince you to put down the claw hammer and the big pipe wrench.

Installed the magno kit and had some issues with shootdown at very high ROF (20+ bps). There were no issue at 15 bps. I was running LPR 56 psi and dwell of 5.5 ms. I upped my dwell to 6.5 ms and the shootdown disappeared. I'll probably try dropping it a bit once broken in (only have about 600 balls through it). It's smoother, quieter and way more efficient. Initially results match the 1800+ per fill that was advertised.
In short, if you get shootdown, try upping the dwell a touch.

I almost took a fire ax to mine, then I decided I would go watch fire works and ship it to you in the morning. I knew I should have waited to take it apart after I had some sleep. Sucks working 50-80 hours a week.

I just got my kit yesterday and put it in, just to dry fire it before work and make sure I didn't break it, anyway I still have to put in all of my settings and It would seem that yours works quite well, what settings do you have in?

i just got my MAGNO kit today..., but im kinda confused how you install the valve stem together i haven put it in my gun yet cause im scared i might put it in the wrong way or something. how did yall put it together??
dodgeballers_ia
07-11-2008, 01:20 AM
You put it back together the same way you took the old out. When you test your reg pressure be sure to hold your marker vertical, Bob told me to do this way, and fire 7 shots and adjust the reg to 180-200 psi. Then check the LPR pressures to see if you need to add or subtract shims, be somewhere between 45-50 psi. I just did mine so I hope this helps you. Good luck.
Try to be closer to the 200psi at the minireg and 55psi at the LPR You can always experiment with lower pressures and dwell but start with the 200/55 baseline and work from there

I got my Magno internals last week and got them installed the same day. Now, wont have a chance to completely test them until sunday, but i did manage to shoot off a few balls in the back yard, here is my setup and findings.
HPR: 190psi
LPR: 55psi
Dwell: 4.5
(Prior to Magno internals i was at 270psi/57psi/6ms)
Dont have a chrono here, but comparing to another gun it is pretty close.
I have a 70/45 and had 2100psi in the tank.
I shot a full Halo and was left with just a hair over 1800psi left in the tank. VERY IMPRESSIVE so far, will test more on sunday.
Halo B holds about 160?? so by my math that would work out at around 2400 from a full 70/45. Thats good in my book.
I didn't notice much reduction in noice, but i dont care about that. Kick is still there, which is fine also.
I will update after sunday.

I really had different results...at first I would have 1 awesome starting shot followed by all drop off shots, unless I shot them one at a time.
settings were
200psi
55psi
4.5 dwell
so i changed my settings to
????psi upped it til I got 285fps
55psi
5.5
and that gave me better results so then I went to
???? (same as second)
55psi
6.5dwell
which gave me awesome response, but after I changed the dwell I had to lower the ???? psi til it went down to 289.
could it just need to be broken in? or should I leave it from now on unless the
fps changes?
lucky7s15
07-11-2008, 07:45 PM
but with the final settings I was getting 3 140pods and about 50rounds(all that I had along) and still had 500 psi left in the tank when I started with about 1800psi but if I dry fire it sounds like it is going to die...but sounds fine when firing paint
