i built a few of those back in the day. the bad thing is most pcs dont have com ports for them anymore. adapters are sketchy still since the software doesnt like USB ports :|

i think i still have my shibbytech invoices from molex and newark somewhere. radioshack has a good "project box" if you go that route.
