So i have a couple of A1's and i've been using the large and small bore kits for a little while with them. They work well and i don't really have any complaints other than i wish they shot through a break a little better.
a buddy of mine has a sly kit he wants to unload, but even at his discounted price its still not chump change. so my question is, is the sly kit a significant upgrade in terms of accuracy, performance, cleaning, etc or would i just be spending money for the sake of spending money?
advice from anyone who has used them before would be appreciated.

I have one and I love it! I didnt find any real change in the accurcy its just more consitaint with the shoots. As far as shooting through brakes as long as it is in the barrel or the barrel back then your fine. But Ive never busted one in my barrel that i know of.

I've found that the Sly is accurate for me and does clean in less than 3 shots. Just yesterday I had the itch to go play paintball and could not get any fresh paint so I pulled out +3 months old paint and was able to play all day with 2 barrel breaks. I know the broke in the barrel near the last half due to football shapes, but both times 3 shot after the break was straight again allowing me to finish the game mowing people down even with barrel breaks. So if thats what your looking to do get it. If your trying to gain major accuracy over the stock barrels then you wont see that since the stock barrels are good. Either way its a luxury not a waste.

Also if you dont wanna spend the money go buy some spray on car wax(I use the RainX liquid spray wax) and spray it in your barrel and get two(2) fresh battle swabs (the reds stick is what i use) and some on that as well and run it in the barrel a few strokes. Let the residue dry a little bit and buff out with the other swab till no streaks and is shiny inside.
It works just as if you waxed your car. the paint will bead and shoot out when it is fired and clear it self out. But you will have to use a rubber squegge to make it last longer, because if you always use the swab to clean it out it will just buff all the wax off sooner. Also once you use the swabs for waxing the barrels keep them for only the waxing and buffing,
I normally do my barrels once a month if i play every wekend like i have been just so i can ensure it stays slick inside.
If you dont beleive me just try it and see for your self.

Ill back that up! I tried it on my CP barrel and it works like a champ. If you do that on a carbon fiber barrel make sure that the swab you use is fresh and clean and that is all you use it for. And never run a swab down a dirty carbon fiber barrel.

I shoot a Stiffi CF barrel and love it. I use it for both XPSL and woodsball. Ihave noticed a little improvement on the accuracy and it is quieter. I also tried it on the Fly and all I coul say is holy cr*p!

I have a sly kit that i use on my A1, and i think that accuracy really comes down to paint to barrel match. But the barrel kit is pretty light and I also notice it cleans breaks in about three to five shoots!

I Totally agree with this statement.... a barrel is a barrel until you find the right paint in the right weather conditions...(swelling). I have shot my a1 using stock barrel with some paint and it would curve more than physics should allow. Then I could turn around and shoot different paint and it would be as straight as a laser beam.
Right now I am living by my stiffi .689 because I have not found too many paint types that will not shoot accurate through it. big or small I love my .689.
Hope this helps somehow:neutral:

I went ahead and picked one up. I've always liked how sexy they look so, plus i like how the backs include a .683. thanks for all the tips.
