Hi folks. I ran into a problem at the field last night. I was out playing with my A1 and the first few games I had a problem with my breach blowing open. At first I thought that the problem was cause I was accidentally turning the breach knob but this wasn't the case. The breach was blowing open even with the knob turned all the way to the off position.

Then I noticed the ram was moving back and forth a millimeter or two. The ram body wasn't moving but when I grasp the breach knob, I could push it back and forth just a tad when the knob was in the closed position. In the open position, there was no back and forth play. I also noticed that in the closed position, if I pull the knob back, it was just far enough that the breach could be pulled open.

I ended up using electrical tape to tape the entire breach closed and didn't have a problem the rest of the evening. I have since taken the gun completely apart and relubed and reassembled everything so hopefully this won't occur again.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what one can do about it. Also, is it normal for the ram to have this small back and forth play? Thanks.

Upon more investigation I am wondering if my hammer position is off. I have taken two pictures. One is with my breach knob turned all the way to the open position and the other is with the breach knob pulled all the way to the closed position. I have read in other posts people suggesting adjusting the position of the breach knob but I found that there really is no adjustment of the knob and I have tried this with both the knob actually attached and the knob detached (turning the shaft itself).

It looks to me that the hammer is positioned too far backwards. the first picture shows the hammer in the "breached closed" position and the second shows the hammer in the "breach open" position. Both seem too far rearward to me now.

Anyways, I just wanted to show this to everyone and see if people think the positions are off as well. Thanks.

Yeah thats to far back! Your hammmer shouldnt have any back and forth play like that. If you purchassed it new id send it to Bob for warranty repair if its fairly new or just order a new ram. they are only 40 bucks. but yeah id say its bad. and with the breach blowing open like that it can bend your breach pins and put a nasty dent on the side of your marker.
