ok so i went to double check my joy settings today and i re set everything but when i got to the lpr adjustment i was at 60psi. So this being the case i decided to remove one shim. i did so and instead of dropping to 57 psi it fell to 54psi is this ok to use or is it too low? yes i made sure that there were no shims stuck together..... if anyone has thoughts please let me know.

Id jsut stick with it at 60. Im not to sure that what 3psi is gonna make a big diffrence just as long as its not to high. The joy settings are just what Joy was using. That dont really mean they are the best. I use there settings but the LPR is at 60 and my dwell is at 8 and my opinion I think that works a little better for me any how. But 3 psi....... Id just leave it at 60. I honestly dont think your gonna get that big of a performance diffrence out of that.

but im still curious would running it at 54 work or would it cause fsdo?

SO just try doing it a 54 and see what happens, If it does have FSDO add the shim back

Poppet markers don't really get much FSDO like spoolers do. I just started a thread on the subject in the angel forum in the nation where I discuss my experience with change LPR pressure and the effects I've seen. You may wish to view it.
I tried running my LPR at 55 psi last night but I saw shoot down and my A1 is well broken in with 70k or 80k balls through it. I've run my LPR everywhere from 55 to 75 psi and I've had the best results with my LPR set to 60-62 psi.
You might be able to run your LPR at 55 psi without shoot down if you boosted the dwell a bit. It seemed like it was right on the edge of working well and it could keep up with PSP ramping but not around 20 bps. I've had such great results with 60-62 psi and dwell of 6.5 ms under all temperature conditions, that I'm just going to stick with that until the magno internals come out. I ran those setting for 8 months with tremendous success and good efficiency.

Hey Poop. Try running your dwell at 8ms and tell me if you notice any diffrance other then your air consumption. I was running at 6.5 and my consumtion was very very bad and i moved it to 8 and it got better. but other then that i saw no diffrence. in performance. also i jsut found out my ram is bad so i know that had a hand in the consumtion. but run that and tell if you notice anything if you dont mind.

Started out getting about 1k off a full fill with a 45/4500 at 280 to 290 fps. Over time that efficiency dropped to like 600 balls but my ram was starting to leak. I dropped a new ram and valve stem in and my efficiency is over 1k balls with my 45/4500 but I'm not sure how far over yet. That was running my LPR at about 62 psi and my dwell at 6.5 ms.
If your ram is going bad, it make not be cycling fast enough and forcefully enough to properly activate the valve which would require you to up your minireg pressure and lose efficiency. Upping your dwell a touch would help counter act that. Perhaps I'll try 8.0 ms but my A1 has been running like a champ with the dwell at 6.5 ms.

that makes alot of sense. i leave my mini reg the same and uped the dwell time to 8. we will see what happens when i get my new ram in next week. should be here by about monday tuesday. FMA is pretty good about getting stuff out same day. I must have just had a really bad ram. I know like the second time I used it, it started leaking when it was first gassed up then it would work fine or at least i thought it was. i probly blew it out cause i didnt buy the guages with it when i got it so everything really wassent set right. Hopefully it will sing. thats funney though even with a bad ram it still ripped up the field. Only in an angel. Man i love the markers!

The new ram I received seemed to have a little bit more resistance than the old one. I suspect they changed the seal on the inside of the ram. The first day I used my new ram and valve stem my efficiency went up each game. I'd walk on the field at 290 fps and walk off at like 310 and have to turn it down again as the parts broke in.

not to flame is because the ram is breaking in or the paint is swelling up due to temperature changes. im from mt vernon wa. we are in the same state and i know the temp. here in washington changes alot. like i said im not here to bash.

I was playing at night indoors so the temperature was very steady over the course of the evening. I'd suspect the velocity increase cam from the valve stem and spring wearing in making the valve easier to open.
