View Full Version : Can you put the eyes in backwards?

I'm sitting here at work and wondering if I killed one of my eyes because it put them in backwards. Is it possible to do that or would the eyes be facing outward if they were on the wrong side?? I don't have a gun in front of me so I can't check myself. Anyone know real quick to ease my worrying???

They would most definently be facing outwards unless you twisted them around to not be. More likely is you pinched one of them somewhere, pull them out and check very closely that there are no nicks or damage to them at all.

The diode is completely gone :)
I was thinking I put them in the wrong spot and when firing the bolt hit the eye and broke it off because it was sticking too far into the breach.

Uh yeah, that would be a problem...
If A1s are like older models there is no way that the eyes could enter the breech like that to be sheared off. And putting them in backwards wouldn't be the cause if they could.

Cool, well that makes me feel better. I just got new ribbon in the mail today, and I was excited until I started worrying that I somehow f-ed up pretty bad. Also, I'm sure you knew this, but backwards meaning the transmitting one on the receiving side.
Thanks man!!

Just make sure the eye doesn't stick out into the breech or anything before you go ripping into it. It's possible you could have a defect or something so just make sure.
The diodes are soldered onto opposite sides of the ribbon to face the right directions when installed, so unless you royally screwed things up it would be hard to get them in there backwards.

That was my thought too. I would have had to twist them around and whatnot to put them on the wrong side.
