Sounds like your eyes might be scratched, I am sure you are seeing the red light from the one side. However the problem seems to be that the marker eyes never see each other between paintball firings. Without air on the marker and with the gun turned on...use your finger to break the beam, fire the marker (listen for the solenoid), pull up your finger, and then put your finger back down to block the eyes again...pull the trigger again, does it immediately fire? You can also watch the graphics on your OLED change as you move your finger up and down. If its not registering the eyes seeing each other, then you might have 1 eye bad (receiver eye), that is assuming you can see your red led side just fine.

What's your battery voltage?
What are your settings?
When you try and shoot does the "breach blocked" icon come up (balls w/a line through them)?

I was having the same problem with my A1. In my case the problem was that the eye cover was not pushing in enough the receive side of the eye ribbons. My solution : I put a little piece of paper on that side of the eye cover to force the eye cover to push in with more force and that's it, problem solve ( until I can buy the new eye covers).
