newbie reg question

I have a question i just purchased a 2001 LCD off of ebay for a good price, I was wondering can I run a 68ci/4500 preset only or do i need like a t.h.o.r. reg on it? and does anybody know what the output of a preset is usually at?

peeps have been running presets on angels for years and have lots of good results , if thats what you have then use it
if you have a thor thats ok too but i wouldnt buy one .
