Hey all. Just got my speed in today (thanks Mo's!) and took a few pics (in the pic thread.)

It doesn't have a silver barrel/rubber shroud, has a matching blue dust annod/milled barrel. Halo doesn't seem to push balls past the detentes, though I haven't had a chance to actually try it yet. Still had to sand the feed neck to get it to fit (new Halo.)

My trigger has a bit of slop side-to-side and came set up fairly conservatively (long-ish trigger pull.) Mine also came with a broken gated feed ring, as one of the tabs had been folded underneath the retaining ring when it was installed, probably a symptom of them being rushed to sale. No biggie, just replaced it with an included spare.

The white foam packaging was all over in the breech, feed tube, and barrel. Had to clean it all out. Pretty sure I got it all.

Bolt looks the same as the R11, but different color.

The manual is exceptionally thorough, though it has a few little mistakes. It has the wrong picture in one of the descriptions, and has some gramatical errors (were instead of where is the one I can think of off the top of my head.) That's pretty nit-picky but I write a lot of papers and tend to notice such things.

All in all I'm happy with it so far, I'll let you all know how it's going after I put some paint through. Any questions I can help with, let me know and I'll try to get you an answer.

Yeah like you said, I am sure WDP was rushing like mad to get these out to people and made a few mistakes..

Looks nice and that barrel is much better looking then that other one that is silver with a shroud...

Thanks for the brief description and congrats on the new Speed!

Heh, some of your points sound exactly like me opening up my new LCD back in '99(styrofoam in the gun, manual mistakes, long sloppy trigger), all small nit picks of course.

As for your gated feed ring, why even keep it in since you have a Halo?

I'll keep it for now, but when it finally goes, I'm not gonna sweat it one bit. The only real reason I can think of for having it in there is in case the halo goes down and I have to resort to using the revvy until it's replaced.
