LCD problems

Ok, I haven't been in this for many years, but I just picked up a dark LCD, and it won't turn on after charging. Is this a battery or a board problem? Also, I took the grip frame off and where one of the plugs goes in there are two spots, one next to the LCD screen, or the one above it. Sorry for the mass confusion, and if you know where to get better information let me know.

Solenoid wire plugs into the SOL port not the HOP port. If all connections are good, marker is turned on for charging and charger working correctly then the board and battery are probable both on their way out. Recommend replacing with this http://www.fixmyangel.com/catalog-product669
