Charging issues

Ok I did a search before posting but still couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I just received this gun and the battery was dead. So I preceded to charge it for around 7 hours. It's in safe mode and the battery bar is cascading. I take it off charge and the display goes blank. So I assume I have a bad battery??

I had to flip the switch to the right to get it to charge. I read in some post's that it's supposed to be to the left for on. So I removed the charger flipped it to the left and plugged it back in. The gun came on in safe mode and began charging. So ummm I'm confused...it will show charging no matter which way the switch is. Does anyone know what's going on??

Switch needs to be in what ever is th on postion. From the factory the on position is generally to the left. If you have to switch it to the right to turn on then no worries just ensure it is on before you plug in the charger. If it still does not hold a charge then the problem could be the battery, board, charger or all three.
