Giveaways to begin

As you can see I have changed the front page, that was done in order to begin doing our giveaways. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have all the details worked out and can begin listing the items we will be giving away. Im sure we will start small, but we have big things planned for the near future. Stay tuned.

no , just random picks of users, karma is way to buggy to use, and i know there are a lot of people who cheat karma, so that wouldnt be fair.

at the beginning nobody has control over the winner other than the system. Later on we will have other ways of winning.

well you're notified by like a PM or something, so if you don't check the boards within a certain amount of time of being notified, you lose, and we go onto the next one.

now is that an encouragement to A) keep your PM box cleaned out, and B) visit every day or every couple of days at least?

sumthin else to think about is people regestering under tons of emails and member names. but like you guyz said thats just for the beggining and your goign to do sumthin your own way or sumthing like that i'm too lazy to go check.

Guys guys guys, calm down. It's not a big deal. Dont worry about the giveaways. They said they are going to start small. Its not a big deal anyway. Theres no competition, its just for fun. Be hppy for the winner.

Networking is great knowledge. So is being able to track IP's, MAC addresses, etc. Even if you sign up under 1,000 different names and use dial up through a modem getting different IP's every time, your MAC address is ALWAYS the same. :nerd:

you wont win if you cheat unless we all get super lazy and just dont care. but we wont let that happen. we have more records of users than you could imagine :)

Once you start giving stuff away you should make a thread so people can see who won certain stuff and that would help keep track of who has already won also.

ive been workign on it 2 days, dont worry its close, i am going to be gone all weekend for concerts paintball tournaments, so dont look for it til early next week, possibly monday. but dont worry they will be here.

I believe that Matt is in the final stages of getting this set up and you can expect to start seeing the giveaways start real soon. Matt is working on something so that only active members actually win, so it is a reason to keep visiting and being an active member of AOG. He will make the announcement on how to win, and what to do etc as soon as it's ready to start.

Eclipse.....shouldn't matter at all, it might just cost a little more to mail out whatever you won......not sure how Matt/the Sponsors will deal with that. Of course you could just pass your winnings on to me and then it's a moot point and I'll thank you greatly. :)

Why thursday? Thats a the most un popular day of the week. Why not friday?

because i chose thursday, it wont always be on thursdays, fridays arent a good day either especially for those of us in college, no weekend day is a good day. Sunday may be the day to look into

Your ISP will be the same. Even if different ISP's, you sit on the same section of the internet's "backbone" and a similar if not identical route will be used by different ISP's to hop out. It can all be traced. If you try to circumvent the system it will be duly noted. You can attempt IP spoofing, it doesn't matter, it can still be traced to one hop upstream. Don't you think you're trying too hard to cheat here?:scratchhe
