to my knowledge, there is no official ROF/Mode change to PSP yet. But when there is a new rof/mode change, wdp will write new software and I assume they would do it before the new season starts.

They have changed some stuff for the 08 season such as you have to buy paint from one of the venders there and some format changes. The software has been in the talks for awile and will happen soon. I can feel it.

I wont mind too much, ill just flash and head to psp.

Yep. They're looking at dropping the ROF limit. Won't be a big deal for us, like the man says...just flash, and go to PSP.

From what I hear, its talk about 12 bps ramping.

To be perfectly honest I never liked playing ramp anyways. So they drop the ramp speed to 11 or 12--on a bad day I can walk in semi at 13, a good day 16.

Paintball Sports Promotions has updated the rules concerning markers and rate of fire for the 2008 Season. Beginning today, the rules will be as follows:

7.3.6. A marker may fire at a maximum rate of 13.33 balls per second.

7.3.6.1. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 65 milliseconds will receive a gross penalty.
7.3.6.2. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 70 milliseconds will be assessed a major penalty.
7.3.6.3. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 75 milliseconds* will be assessed a minor penalty.

* A measurement of 75.0 milliseconds or higher is acceptable. A measurement of 74.9 milliseconds or lower will be penalized.

We will be updating our rule book on the PSP website shortly. For more information about PSP rules and the upcoming season please visit www.pspevents.com.

We are working on new software now that the rule has been finalized and hope that will be ready soon, but you can create a custom version of the lower limit PSP mode via the following custom mode settings.
mode = custom
semi + HR
MROF eyes on 13
MROF eyes off 13
Ramp feature = Hard ramp
start delay 4
kick in 5
drop out 4

That should allow you to practice in the new PSP mode while we work on the new changes.

is there any way or chance to have 1,2,3 semi and 4th shot starts 3 shot burst to 13?

Change your kick-in drop-out settings perhaps...

Now you are at it. Change the millenium mode too. 12bps??? Can't believe it.

I know! All the new fast loaders and ramping is just not necessary anymore.

But to be honest, it never really was. PSP (and I believe Millenium) ramping was 15.4 bps. Most people can walk their triggers around 12-13 bps or higher. NPPL is uncapped ROF, but no ramping. So only a few people could, in actual gameplay, have the ability to shoot at really high ROFs, and even then the fastest it would be is around 20 bps. So why such a big deal when a gun is advertised as being able to shoot 30 or 40 bps? It's also why I always am amazed when people gush over a hopper that can feed at rates upwards of 30 bps--what's the point if you're never going to be able to use that feature, except maybe to show off when you're just messing around? Don't get me wrong, Revvies and Eggs are nowhere near the quality of Halos, Pulses, VLocities, etc., but that quality and reliability is the real selling point to me for these hoppers, and even for any gun I might use--those that are easy to clean, maintain, and repair, are simple to troubleshoot during live gameplay, and will perform reliably under any type of conditions. I think I mentioned this in an earlier thread somewhere around here.

Well, to shoot 15bps consistently you will need a loader that can feed around 20bps. The funny thing is just that the newest loaders keep increasing their bps value and the turnaments keeps lovering mrof.

any word on the new software? The Phoenix Open is just around the corner. And our CFOA event is on the 23rd. Hopefully the new software will be available before then...

Use the ish on the first page Tan-man...we'll be good to go. PSP just put out their rule book for 2k8 today.

LOL I already have those settings in both my A1's. Im just wondering if there is a new flash still being worked on so we can set it in PSP or CFOA and forget it...

drkanglr

I'm sure there is. But with the PSP rulebook just being released 1/31, it'll be a few hours at least. Then if they want to do CFOA again, it'll be longer waiting on them. Though at the events, CFOA owner states "PSP ramping" is permitted. Food for thought.

So what's the scoop with a software release to address the PSP change waaay back in January. And yeah I know the spiel about the "custom" mode. I don't understand why it's been five months (and counting) to rewrite and compile a few thousand lines of code. Is there a programmer shortage in the U.K.?

hopefully angel will add more on to the gun such as a bps meter like the g7.that way we can be for sure that we are shooting legal. just maybe thats why its taking so long.

05-22-2008, 06:54 PM
Theirs no need for an update......you can setup the gun for new rules for just about anything by programing it yourself.......and you dont need a meter to prove your shooting legal....just set your caps in the programming...Not like the guns going to out shoot its self...

To be perfectly honest I never liked playing ramp anyways.

At least Im not alone.

Semi uncapped, no bounce. FTW.

you know i dont really care for ramp. on the a1 this is my prefrence and my opinion but i think there is really more control in xball mode. because you know 3 shots and it goes to 15 capped auto. you can never really be sure when ramp will kick in. thats my thought.

even more control in semi-auto ;)
