View Full Version : LPR "mini-oring" cause leak?

OK I searched around, looked at the leak diagnostic link and everything but I still cannot figure out if my leak is coming from the mini-oring or not.

I have a leak and it is coming from the trigger frame, meaning LPR is leaking... with that said I have changed the LPR orings on all but the mini oring. To explain what I mean by the mini-oring....

On the LPR you have the piston, rings, shims, wire spacer, LPR body, and LPR insert. Where the Piston makes a seal in the LPR body there is a small oring inside the LPR body on the wire spacer side. The leak diagnostic says replace LPR orings but it only shows the big ones on the piston and insert thing. Nothing about the LPR mini oring. I cannot find the mini oring mentioned anywhere for that matter to even find the part number.

1) Will this oring cause a leak from the trigger frame?
2) Do I have to order a new LPR in order to replace the mini-oring?

The leak is minimal but steady... Before I replaced the big orings on the LPR and Piston, I had a large leak. Now its just the small leak that I cannot resolve.

Any help?

It was the Dye slick lube that supposally swells O-rings. Never had a problem with it myself but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try some on the O-ring in question.

i cleaned the dye lube out and used some actual grease like stuff....called shocktech butta.... i used this stuff on almost everthing and never had problems .....

after using it acted better than the dye stuff so maybe its ok....but i dont recall using that much if any dye slick on the "mini-oring"

Shib, I have no doubt you've been around the game longer than me, but I have never heard of Dow 33 or SL33K (same thing) ever swelling o-rings in any gun, urethane or BUNA... ever. Dye Lube, hell yeah, but never Dow 33. It actually works really well in the A1 from my experience, especially the mini-reg and solenoid.

i dont recall is its 33 or 55 that swells the oring. im not tryn to be an dick or anything but i know one of em swells orings as ive had it happen (buddy put it on a bolt for a cocker (donno why) and it swelled the orings)

and the same friend put the dye §§§§ on the bolt for the cocker after i fixed the damn thing and it corroded the bolt. long story short he has a delrin one now and he knows better after i beat it into his head

then again i am biast agains ANY smartparts stuff after they started suing everyone under the sun and theAKA guns cant be made anymore.

All i use in ANY marker is the Stuff from FMA or Superlube in both grease and liquid form as i have found it to be the best bang for the buck. technicly you can eat while teching your gun and not have to worry about screwing ur system up (i dont reccommend it tho)

DOW 33 is the same thing as molykote, which is the recommended lube for the A-1.

No kidding.

Not everything about SP is garbage. Not my favorite, not as good as WDP in my experience, but not all garbage.

Yeah, maybe Dow 55... Matter of fact, definitely Dow 55. Here's a quote from CriticalPaintball.com in their item description (http://www.criticalpaintball.com/Dow_55_Lubricant_p/dow_55.htm) of it: "It is also designed to slightly swell o-rings creating better seals within your gun."

Sorry about that... but yeah, the answer is get a new LPR. You can get one for about $40-45, so in the grand scheme of things it's not the worst thing that can happen to your gun. Good luck, let us know if it works.

I was afraid of that.... that little thing should not be 50 bucks.... or at least they should have that little oring in the service kit or even the seal kit.....

oh well im going to try and lube it and/or find another oring before spending that money...

thanks guys

You can buy the oring alone and it comes in the service kit.
