Ok theres been a debate about pcs that come from the factory with vista if they can downgrade to windows XP. I personally confirm this. I downgraded a HP pavillion DV2000 laptop today. All you need to do is go the manufacturer website and download the windows xp drivers for your system. Vista is a piece of trash and ill be downgrading my desktop in the near future.

take that julez!

My son runs an XP Dark Pro version. Has the graphics of Vista but XP op. When you install it the SP 3 drivers are installed. That is what it should have been all along! ...

i'm going to stick with xp pro, it's a stable platform and everything works on it, my mate has vista and xp pro dual booting on his machine and to play some of his games he has to switch to xp as vista just has a hissy fit and says no.

I don't know where he got the copy from. It was from rapidshares or something. Does not even ask you for a registration code when you install it. If I remember right it installs with Taiwanese language or something. You have to change the language to English and your all set. Interface is really slick. You would think your running Vista but it is XP pro. Really nice graphics.... I'll look for the link and send it over to you.

good stuff. the version im running has alot of the useless processes not running and the performance of it has greatly improved. i think it was described as a *lite or slimline version* the ISO was less than 550mb. installs sp2 with it and the later updates validate also

I've got a new laptop with Vista premium on it.I've had it about a month, and I have had no conflicts or problems.Works great for me.I thought it was going to suck getting a new system because I had XP right after it came out and nothing would run on it.It was a good 6 months before I could get it up and running good.So I would have to say Vista is far better at release then XP was.

How old is the printer? I know they were only making drivers that went back a limited amount of time. When I got my laptop, it came w/ a "free" printer from Circuit City...I had to download and intall my own drivers and then the only place you could go to get ink for the printer was Circuit City...even if you went to order ink from the printer manufactuer, it linked to CC's website. Crappy deal. Just got a new printer.
