gun just up and died on me. a1 fresh tear down and lubed, shot fine couple days ago but today it wouldn't fire at all.
minireg 275ish
lpr 61ish
joy rage everything else

gassed her up no paint in demo and pulled the trigger...nothing
walked on her for a bit and she started firing but sounded funny
degassed and checked pressures everything is good...
gassed her back up put in semi still nothing.
unloaded paint turned eyes off(trigger must be working)still nothing...
waled her and after about 9-10 trigger pulls she starts firing and continues to fire as long as i keep her humming... stop and start again and no fire till 9-10 pulls. WTF???? shes only got 11536 shots on her and 1/2 those are dry

anybody got any ideas??? thanks

hmmm i ditchd my A1 not a month after i got it so i donno too much about them.... do a drop ball test in it to see if ur eyes arnt malfunctioning. if it wasnt working in demo its useally an eye issue if im not mistaken

the eyes are working,and it does this in every mode eyes on or off

i dont wanna jump the gun n say it may be a software issue but it may. download the 2.2 sotware from wdp.tv and reflash it. Its drastic but may help. I onno what anyone else has to say on he subject tho

its got 2.2 and ive never had any trouble from her till now.
could it be weather related??? it has cooled off a bit here in Elvisville(its about 45 or so)
but none of my other angels ever cared about the temp outside. when it got cold out they made me feel warm and fuzzy. this a1 is making me feel like im naked in the snow with a gut full of cold beer...

im assuming its electrical something....or something to do with both electric and pneumatic

What about the solenoid? could be clogged or malfunctioning? But then again i dont know how you check for a faulty solenoid

Could be as simple as a bad solenoid or the board is failing.

I'm in no way qualified to make a diagnosis, but it sounds like the noid to me. Mine did almost the same thing. She would be humming one game and then off the break on the next...nothing for like 10 pulls or so. Then it would fire intermittantly. Next game she was fine again. We went back and forth like that until Ken diagnosed it as the noid. I replaced it, and she has worked like a charm since. odd how I refer to my A1 in the "she" sense isn't it :)

hey bob... do ya think that either one could really be failing at only <12000 on the counter?? i sure hope not. my led is 10yrs old and only crapped out on me once about 2 months ago and a couple bucks worth of odds and ends and shes back in the ring.

BOB, ill pick your brain a little bit now that youre here.
this gun after a few pulls on the trigger will work fine until i stop firing and wait a moment... then it wont fire at all eyes on or not.. then after several trigger pulls she will fire but either two balls at once or the first ball barely gets out the barrel then shes fine until i stop firing and then its (88mph and a big flash later) back to the begining. my pressures are good my settings are rage joy to the letter my battery in new i got new 3 piece eye covers and detents im stumped
oh yeah, when it does fire it makes a strange noise, sounds like a blaster from a star wars movie. not very loud but its there. matter of fact that about all the noise she makes at all wilth paint in her
if i new what to do or replace i would call you up and order it but i dont want to just throw money at this thing until ive got a good idea what it needs.

Other than what has already been mentioned I have no idea what could be causing your problem...but have you tried different tanks/checked your tank output/recharge rate? May have nothing to do with your problem. You'd probably be better off sending it in. Is your A1 still under warranty? Is so then by all means take advantage of that.

The problem you are describing is either related to the solenoid, the board or both. My vote would be the noid, in a few instances it has been a damaged/bad board.

Feel your frustration man, are you the original owner? If so how long have you had your A1. 6 months or less (I racked up 12000 shots the first 2 months I had my A1, so I'm guessing it's eithernot that old or you use it sparingly) send it in for repair under warranty. If the warranty has expired then call Bob, Ken or whoever you chose and work with them. If you bought it used, who knows how many shots it has on it, everytime the board is flashed the shot counter is reset, you can even go in and reset the shot counter yourself anytime you want. Now nobody has said it is absolutely your board or noid, only that it "could be" or "very likely to be" is the only responses I see. It could be as simple as a bad solder joint or opto-switch going bad, but until a qualified repair person has your marker in front of them it's impossible to know for sure. If it was me I'd send it to Bob, let him save me from "shot-gunning" the problem with repair parts trying to resolve the problem. And I would be EXTREMELY polite during the process.

so i went and gassed up my "DEMON" a bit ago and guess what???
she worked fine... for a bit and then back to being a bad girl. i put my guages on her and when shes working or not my pressures are the same and i can here the noid clicking so the board and noid must be working right??? so what gives??? ive been in her several times and unless im blind and there is some kind of blockage somewhere in the gun (highlydoubtful) i dont understand what could be wrong.
doesnt it go like this???

air from tank(420 psi i checked) to mini reg(270 psi also checked) to lpr (60psi i checked) pull trigger and board sends signal to noid which diverts lpg to ram which moves forward and hammer strikes exh valve letting hpg travel through bolt to paintball propelling said paint out barrel down field onto unsuspecting players
is this not the way that these things work???
all my components seem to be working so why does she stutter so???

Your description of the problem has just changed :no shoot and stutter" are different issues. My recommendation is call and let me hear the marker so I will have a better idea of what you are experiencing.

ok folks got some new info for you
tore her down again last night(if i keep this up shes going to need counceling)and something is definitely up with the noid... when i first pull trigger noid makes a very faint "clip" sound and she will not cycle.... after a short run of 10-20 pulls with no cycling
noid makes a "clop" sound and she does cycle. so my noid is intermittently not actuating fully is what i believe to be true. now with that said can anyone tell me what voltage the board sends to the noid to actuate it is supposed to be so i can determine whether or not my noid is actually faulty or my board just isnt sending enough juice to the noid. or what the resistance parameters of a good noid are??
anybody know these things???

Hey when your putting the new noid in don't over tighten the noid cover setscrew, that may, and I stress may, and not saying you did, but it may have been the death of the last noid.
