Hey Gang,

I recently bought the misses a used A1 for 500$, good apperance, low shot count (5210) and gen2 parts and yadda yadda yadda...It was a good deal.

Anywho, I've had zero problems with my A1, I give it a full tear down and cleaning after each day and so on.

We got her gun in this past saturday, which was good cause we had plans of playing indoors that night. Got the gun, gassed it up, ran some dry shots and then some re-ball...worked great, lpr and hpr checked out on the money and used it that night woderfuly (tho it was apparent it wasent broke in yet)

Tho, My first mistake, due to time constraints, was not give the marker a full run through...which is usualy my biggest pev.......

Onto sunday, Outdoors......Cold as hell out side...My A1...perfect...Hers...not so perfect...........alot less than perfect (the gun recieved a clean up the night befor but at this point I hadnet gone through it yet)

When fired, it was almost like the bolt was getting stuck forward on something and would stay like that for a second or 2...kinda like when mine gets realy realy low on air.........But sometimes it would get stuck longer until I pulled the trigger again inwhich it would return......This would only happen if I shot the gun at a relativly low RoF...2-3 Bps...If I walked it, seemed rather fine, tho going through tons of air.

LPR checked out, HpR was a little low but I adjusted to taste...still nothing...

Went home and went throught the gun...every piece...every set screw...everything was taken apart.....

O-rings look good, no swelling, no rolling, no niks - Tho I am replacing them all anywho.....

Tho what struck me odd...was the gresse...it was green.........I'm not familure which this color of gresse...any ideas?

So thats the story.

Anything in particuler I should look at more while its all out like this? Like I said everything *seemed* good other than the ????? gresse....which....due to the temp outside....*could* have become sluggish (27* F at the time)

Anyone thinking anything else?

Thanks for your input guy/gals

Sounds like your on the right track as far as the grease. Don't honestly kow of any green marker grease. I'd thoroughly clean all that off and grease it up w/some angel grease or whatever you use on your other A1. And just to make sure check that your breach seal isn't coming un-glued and lifting.

The older dye slick honey is green and is REALLY sticky, too much so usually. Esp in cold temps, it gums up badly (hence why dye no longer makes it.) AND to top it off the older it gets the stickier it gets cause its a dirt magnet.
Take it all off and use something like lurker/sl33k/hater...etc as per the lube cards. Then shoot a lil oil through it.
Also with the bolt getting stuck at low rof, and using lots o' air i'd say a new breech seal is in order too.

At the Time, The breach seal looked damn near new and was seated well, Tho I removed that also in favor of placing a new one on.

The grease I dont know...cant be a marker grease....slightly thicker than lithium but I wouldnt place it as a machine or spindle grease

The air loss was a constant "dump" (best way I can describe it) as if something wasent closing/seating properaly after the intial "pop" from firing the marker, but then would clear up once everything slid back

evolve cinnamon butter is also dark green... but I've had no problems using that on my A1. That said, never used it at that low a temp.

Ok, i think i understand what you mean about the leak. The valve stem may be worn, or the ram o-ring might be bad. can you tell where the air is leaking from? if its up front its going to be the valve stem, if its the back its gonna be the ram.
The description of the grease sounds exactly like the old dye lube. I dont recall hater being that thick.
Just a matter of interest, the body doesn't have a mar where the breech may have been shot open does it?

Thanks Warlord, you just reminded me.

I had him send pictures of that area prior to buying, so nope, its all good

BUT what you did just remind me of was.

While it was stuck and dumping air, the breach would lift oh so slightly (no more than if you tried to open the breach while it was still locked)

Edit: also, Its not the valve stem, I had 2 new ones on me and tried both at the field, no avail

The breach would lift while it was dumping air because of all the gas blowing upwards on it. No breach locking pins on the A1 to secure it. That's nothing to be concerned with. I think it was the lube. Sounds like typicle cold weather problems with a ram gun. Grease it with whatever yours is done with and I'd bet the problem goes away.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I had similar problems Saturday with my A4 Flys. Once the ram would strike the valve it would remain forward and dump air. Normally it wouldn't happen, but the cold made the lube extra thick and hammer would get stuck in it. My problem was the lighter springs in my Cobra valves didn't have the strength to push back and get the ram started back in the other direction. I ended up just dumping the stock valve back in as it has a heavier spring, but normally re-lubing with something lighter would be the thing to do.

Ensure the breech is not too tight, pressures and dwell adjusted properly, breech seal seated, bolt pin seated correctly and a good battery. You then want to ensure the solenoid housing has not been crushed. If still have an issue it may be as simple as a bad ram.

99% sure it was a green mistery gooo.......

globbed up a good amount of it (their was plenty to go around) and placed it in a dish and tossed it in the fridge, which was actualy warmer than that morning.......The consistancy is that of toothpaste......

Got the hard body parts in the ultrasonic atm getting cleaned up, internals are all hand cleaned and ready to go in with some quality FMA grease.

All should be well, If not i'll be back posting^^

Also on a short side rail of my own thread, BoB any plans on releasing a master service tray with the expected to be released new internals when their avialable?
