Aside from the obvious back and foward hit the ram does, are there any other contributing factors that would make this piece hit retirement early?

Aside from a broken exhaust valve, I am led to believe my ram is also going south on me

replace the valve stem, and completely strip and clean the marker before you assume anything else is wrong.

How tight is the breech? Take the bolt out and turn the gun upside down. Does the breech open by itself?

what is your LPR pressure? The LPR pressure is what makes the ram move if this is low it can cause the ram to "Lag "

yes the breech opens by itself.

Frazer i'll have to wait till I have a working exhaust valve before I put gauges on it??
