I love the A1 Angel dont get me wrong, its beautiful and feels great but..

How it shoots at the moment, is not the best.

Its accuracy could be judged by saying it would miss the side of a barn and its all over the chrono.

However this is probably user error.

I am using Rage/Joy settings, marker has about 7 cases through it (14,000 cycles), and its in great condition otherwise.

I am using a HP TANK.

I am assuming that the HP Tank is causing the velocity spikes/inconsitency which obviously will greatly effect the markers accuracy but I was told by someone that you CAN use HP.

I am getting a LP Tank but dont have one currently to test my theory so I wanted someone to confirm that for me.

Thank you, hope I didnt make myself seem stupid with my first post

Sure you CAN use a HP tank but your going to have the exact problems you described. Find yourself a LP tank and your troubles will go away.

BTW - Welcome to AOG.

thank you

is the reg mod worth doing *basically making the stock HPR able to use HP tanks*.

I am thinking of doing it but am unsure and not well aware of how to remove a C-Clip do you pinch the ends together ?

No need to remove any c-clips. For this mod you remove the velocity screw from the stock minireg, use the appropriate tool to screw into the HPR assembly and remove it, then use the appropriate allen key to remove the minireg housing. The CP reg adapter then simply is popped into place and an allen-headed screw secures it in place, just like the stock minireg. You can then add on any regulator you wish.

I dont see anyone mentioning the CP reg adapters.

ya sorry if I didnt clarify that properly

I wanted to know if doing the HPR mod to the stock Angel HPR would be a good idea. (reversing the shims to allow the A1 to use HP tanks properly)

And how to remove the C-Clip

I finally got it out however I DID bend it lol. I hammered it back down and it shoots fine however I havent put it over a chrono

It is best to use a set of CirClip Pliers as seen here: http://cvfsupplyco-store.stores.yahoo.net/4pccirpliers.html

You can get them pretty cheap on the internet or any hardware store.

Several people have done just that, converted to HP. Myself though, I like to keep the marker running as it was intended. Once you start using that LP tank, you will see drastic improvement. One member on my team has been running HP and has had all kinds of little problems with his A1. Now he has the LP and its like a different marker all together.

Oh and welcome to the family.

Spartan welcome, what tank reg are you using? there might be a LP conversion kit available for it. And btw I know quite a few people that have done the HPR mod to make it compatible w/HP and have had no issues.

Put it this way:
You wouldn't put 87 octane in your brand new Ferrari, it's not made to run on it. Running HP on most Angels is the same way, it's not going to work right.

I'd suggest a LP mod for your tank if there is one for it. I can't think of a gun (high end electric) that needs HP anymore. Better to convert you tank if you can.

Please tell me it was only the C- clip that you bent. As long as it fits back into it's groove and doesn't come loose you'll be alright. If you meant that you bent something else, your going to have some problems.
