View Full Version : After Lubing LPR Pressure Changed

Several weeks ago I used my A1, all the pressures were set correctly, 270 psi and 57psi, rage settings, gun was flawless.

I decided to clean my gun, and used a new grease (slick honey), after oiling and lubing, I checked the pressures and adjusted the velocity to get the pressure at 270psi, however my LPR was at 40ish, I put in a few shims and only was able to get the pressure up to 51psi. I was wondering why the pressure was so different after lubing, did the new grease affect how something works? (Before I was using Hater Sauce.)

I haven't shot the gun yet, but was wondering if the gun will actually work at that pressure?

I've probably put at least 10,000 rounds through the gun as well, not sure if that matters or not.

THis is my 3rd time cleaning my gun and lubing, grease being consistent in the past, and never had an issue with the LPR dropping. I thought i potentially put in the stack wrong...... ><>..... but i think I have it correct. I ordered more shims, cause i've read that no one has been able to operate their gun at 50psi....... thoughts....

Slick honey is great for perforating and swelling orings. Recommend trying a new oring on the large piston. As far as the spring pack set up which end of your example is the large part of the piston at?

I'll try changing the oring and see what happens. btw which piece is the large piston? I lost my manual so couldnt see the way the stack is supposed to go and which piston is the large one. Too long to download the manual from the internet as well.

AHHHHHHHH just downloaded the lube cards, and my stack is correct.

well i switched the orings on the big piston, within a few shots i was able to get the LPR back to 61, and i was fine tuning to 270psi air was running low and couldnt get that high no matter how much velocity i gave it. I have to get more air then I'll test again, but it looks like when i took a few shots the gages registered at 270 and 61, I assume as the air died on the tank that threw off the 270. Once i get air I'll post my results. But it seems as if it was the orings as you stated.

Bob, switched out the orings, with a full tank of air everything is back on track. What type of lube do you use? Is slick honey ok?

I have hater sauce as well and that seemed to work well, but a buddy recommended slick honey so I decided to give it a try.

hater sauce is fine but, that grease is more geared towards moving o-rings (such as on a spool gun).

I would stick with something a bit thicker such as dow33 or mt grease. The thicker greases will give you a better seal for static o-rings. But if i remember dow55 swells o-rings, which you do NOT want.
