I purchased an IR3 FLY without any board, so I got the Lucky UN1 board, but whoever owned the angel previously must have set it up with a non-angel board because he soldered on different sized connectors. Is there a diagram anywhere that shows exactly what goes where on the un1tech board? There are like 6 connectors.

I'm putting eyes on the gun (didn't have any to start with). I grabbed some halo eyes, since that's all the local field had (and they were cheap). As far as I can tell, they are the same size as DM eyes, but have a different connector (4 wires instead of 3), The wires are all different colors, too: grey, blue, orange, yellow. I'm not sure if I need to merge two of those or if I can use one of the 4 pin connectors on the board.

take a picture of the board for a visual of the changes.

theres a howto to make your own eyes in the tech area. and a guide i wrote title DIY fly mod.

solinoid will hook into slot on right side. eyes r nect to it. there should be a spare or 4 pin that isnt used. also a slot ont he bottol right of the board isnt used. what chip r u using for programming

I hooked the solenoid up - seems to work with the black wire on the bottom and red on top (I used the connector from the intellifeed). Here's a picture of what I've got:

I read both your DIY fly mod and another DIY eye mod, but neither seems to cover the specifics of which wire goes where. I need to know where the LED +, LED -, PT +, and PT - go. I'm not sure if phototransistors are picky, but I know LED's only work one way, so I don't want to try, get it wrong, and fry it.

I think this may be exactly what I need here: http://www.angelowners.com/showpost.php?p=594599&postcount=3

Edit: After looking at one of those pictures, it seems I may have the solenoid wired backwards. The weird thing is, I've tried it both ways and it seems to "work" either way. I'd really like to be certain which way is correct before I go solder and heat shrink everything. It seems like the black wire is supposed to be on the left when the pins/notches are near the bottom of the plug.

I tried hooking the eyes up but didn't have much luck. Unfortunately the LED is IR, so I can't be certain if it's working or not. I tried with a colored LED, just for testing, and it lights up dimly when I plug it in the top two connectors (as the diagram I linked suggests should be done), and seems to flicker irregularly, but gets brighter when I pull the trigger. If I plug it into the bottom two connectors, it lights up brightly cuts off briefly when I pull the trigger.

When I plug the phototransistor in the bottom, the LED on the board turns red, indicating that there's no ball in the breach. No matter what I do, short of unplugging it, it stays red, even if I turn all the lights off and unplug the LED.

Maybe I have them backwards, but I'm pretty sure the dark colored one is the PT and the clear one is the LED, and I didn't have any luck swapping them around. I'm wondering if the phototransistor is just bad or the signal is too strong/weak for the board to detect properly.
