hey all

I am oncidering getting a clear breech for my darklcd. The problem that I am having is that I don't know what I can do to shape it and keep the parts that I want to shave off clear. I want to make it look like the one that I have on my dark but I wan to keep it clear. I know that over time the bolt chamber its self might end up a little worn but thats ok.

I just wanted to see if there was anyone on here that can tell me if there is a way to keep it looking 100% and shape it to the same shape of my dark.

thanks

having someone make a program up in what is it autocad (could be wrong) and having it custom made. as far as i knew System X was only nes who made them and they no longer make them and they are xtremely hard to come by.

I have one and what it needs is the holes drilled into it for the retainign pins and breech lock pin. they r pretty straight forward.

I think I might have to do that or do something with autocad and see but I am not sure what I can do about the white parts after i am done with the rotary stuff

i think i got what you're saying.

like how when you drill through the plastic around the whole will turn white instead of clear.

i would say try to keep the drill bit from getting too hot and turning the clear into white

i know dremmels have polishing tips and there are some polishing compounds available, that might be a viable option.

Most of you are dead on target. I have done many prototypes over the years using plexiglass and acrylics. Sharp cutting tools are very important. Keep your speed down low so it doesn't melt the material. Another trick is to use progressively finer grits of emery paper to smooth out the plastic. Then allot of elbow grease and some silver polish and you can get it crystal clear. It take tons of patience to do it right. The bolt will scratch the ID hole of the breach over time. So the see through bran spanking new breach cover will look a little scratched up down the road. Good luck mate!

sounds like a plan I am going to be dying the breech purple to match the rest of my parts that i have added to my angel so that should work just fine.

if your idea is to change it for the sake of the cool factor they suck.lol. now if your breach is damaged they are a good alternitive to throwing the gun away. the biggest issue is the breach is aligned with the body when it is made. in most cases after you install the systemx breach you will notice significant wear on one spot as its not properly aligned. unfortunatly it wont be long before the entire breach is unsightly due to the softness of the plastic.

If any one can mill one up for a 2k2 lcd and 05 speed ill be happy to buy them off you.
This is one project I know I wont have time for.
