View Full Version : Weird Firing Problem

Hey guys,
I have had a Tadao board in my 06 GAT for quite some time now and never had a single problem w/ my gun or the board ever. Suddenly as I am playing this weekend, after 5 or so normal rounds of play...I am firing and after about 10 shots it suddenly stops shooting and goes into programming mode. I turn the gun off, back on...it can shoot about 10-15 more shots, then same thing. I know my trigger isn't pressing the switch, and even if it was...it should start up in programming mode from the start when i switch the gun on...not mid-fire.
Wiring? Batteries? Any ideas?
Sounds like a dead battery.

Also, is the tournament lock on? One of my boards was wacko like that and I had to program it and then lock the board. The other two I do not have the same problem. I know the batteries are all OK in all my markers. I use an RC charger that is pretty high tech....

Yeah that's what I thought at first...but in the past when my battery went low, it never accidently went into programming mode, it would just do the normal intermittent shooting thing.
I've changed the battery since, but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet.

take the board out. set it flat on a bench and scrub the board on the non circuit side with a tooth brush. pay attention to the contacts at the bottom of the board going vertical.if any paint got onto the board and was not removed it can become corrosive and possiably bridge the soldier joints as their close together. please report back.

problem solved, I guess it was a low battery?!
I swapped out the battery even though the Tadao board was still indicating a full charge (green flashing lights at startup), and i just test fired a couple hundred rounds, shot beautifully, no problems at all. Strange to me though that if it was low battery why I wasn't even getting the low battery or dead battery indicator (yellow or red flashing lights at startup). I also still don't understand why that resulted in going into programming mode, unless the power was literally being disconnected intermittently on/off so that when it powered off/on during gameplay when the trigger was being pulled it went into programming mode.
Thanks for the help everyone.

-i looked at my board, but there isn't a single drop of paint on it, it's pristine
-thanks for thinking outside the box though, appreciate it

awesome.some batteries will show a full charge but fail under a load.
