I bought a used A4 fly about 2 months ago and it had no LCD screen. After a month the board just stopped working so i brought it into a shop and the guy said that there is a loose circuit or something that you have to put in the right place for it to work. It worked for another month and now the same problem happened again. I was wondering if anyone knows where on the board i should be looking for loose wires or could it be anywhere on the board? I just dont want to keep taking it into a shop when i could learn how to do it myself.

There are 2 wire harnesses that plug int the board. If you look very closely at the board you will see markings. One will say SOL (solenoid) the other PWR (power) if I remember right. The power is also a 3 pin molex connector so it is a bit wider. Sounds like ether you got a wire that is about to break on the power connector or on the switch on the backplate. Look carefully to determine if ether is the root cause.

they say BAT,SOL, and HOP. The Bat is the same as the power i think you were talking about, its a 3pin conector but only 2 of the 3 pins have wires in them, is that right? i'm also checking to see if i can see any breaks or tears in them. If this helps any, when i turn it on there is a small buzzing sound the board makes for about 2 seconds then flickers for another second then dies.

Yes I was mistaken on the Bat one. That is the one to look at closely. Buzzing sound might be low battery power or it is giving just enough power to barely start then power loss. Will it take a charge? How old is your battery?

i dont think its low battery because i plug it in to charge and the light is green there, but when i take it out of the charging station, after even 1 hour of driving with it charging, it buzzes and turns off.

You could still have a bad battery regardless of it looking like it takes a charge. They get memory and will not take a charge when they get older or they get completely drained. One trick is to try repeated charging attempts. Try like 5 or 6 times to charge it. Sometimes this works. Do you know someone with an Angel that would let you check your board with their battery? That would tell you right away if it is a board or battery problem.

i'll try that but i'm pretty sure its the board because of what the guy at the proshop said after he fixed it. he said thers a loose connection on one of the wires and he got it working but said not to play around with the wires or it might fault again. I also looked at both ends of the BAT wires, nothing i can see with my eye is wrong with them, so i'm not sure what to do.

Well if it is the wire that is faulty that would also not let you get a proper charge on the battery. The charger plugs into the board and that is how the battery gets it's juice.

I have seen a few battery's for sale on AOG lately or FMA or Performance Angel have them as well. Wouldn't hurt to have a spare.
