Hey guys,

recently I was offered to trade my Tippmann A5 (with eGrip, SP Progressive and JCS Jet Click) for an A4 Fly (with UL barrel and EvoII). This seems like a pretty good deal to me, but there is a slight problem. The current owner doesn't know anything about the marker, he couldn't even tell me what type of Angel it was (luckily my teammate knew). He also said the board had bluetooth, which I heavily doubt as I can find nothing on that. I've seen him playing with it a couple of times, but before I got the offer, so I've never really paid any attention to it.

As a result, I have absolutely no idea what board, eyes and other (possible) ups it has. I will meet with him Monday to have a look at both of the markers, and I would like your advice on any particular things to look for. I didn't know much about angels myself and I've only had a small amount of time to find any information on it, so I could use any advice you can give.

I hope to have pics later this day, but can't say for sure...

Thanks in advance for any help!

unless by some weird chance the marker simply doesn't work...you're winning out on the deal regardless.

Thats a win for you if it truely is an a4 fly. Make sure it has anti chop eyes and not sensi or cops. Sensi or cops works great, but eyes are faster. Sensi or cops is wdps first attempt at an anti chop system. It worked, but people didn't like it because it worked too well in most cases. sensi didn't let people fire as fast because it waited longer for a paintball to be present. It really did work.

It's a really good deal if it is an A4 FLY.

Thanks for the help!

Predator: how will I be able to spot the difference? Of course I know how normal eyes work, but I don't know how it differs from bith sensi or cops...

As far as how good this deal is; I'm sure the A4 Fly will totally outshoot the A5, but I'm not quite sure which marker has a better resale value. Both in Germany and the Netherlands angels have a relative low resale value, in contrast to (amongst others) Tippmanns.

Check out the pic threads for both Flies and A4's. You'll see the differences easily. The biggest ones are cosmetic and they'll present themselves like a boil on a hookers nose

the bluetooth is probably the rf chip for the pulse hopper

Ok, I traded last Monday and it indeed is an A4 Fly. I haven't had the chance of testing it, but it looks and feels quite good. Unfortunately the previous owner said he changed some of the setting last week but the marker was having some problems, so i looks like I'll be needing to check all settings.

I think the previous owner thought the Fetch Mode was some sort of Bluetooth

you should be able to reset the board to board defaults.

I'd suggest downloading the manual for the marker and reading it thoroughly. It will also tell you how to reset everything, and how to make changes for chrono and tuning the LPR etc.

It's not bluetooth, but it is a wireless link facilitated by the sensors in the window opposite the LCD window. Almost nobody uses them.

The guy didn't know anything about the gun he has, and gave you this tremendious trade deal? There is a good possibility it may be a stolen gun. I am a former field owner, and had a couple times people want to sell me guns they knew nothing about, for a very cheap price. Unfortuneatly, the ones that seemed too good to be true, turned out to be stolen after I investigated.

I'm sure it's not stolen, because the guy I traded bought it from the owner of my local shop. I also consulted him before I made the deal, he agreed that it was a very good deal for me.
