Check you motor wires they are probable reverse. We have seen a few these and it is cool to watch them smoke.

yeah i burnt a board after installing a new gangstar chip. Iono what happened, i put it in the chip and turned it on to test it, worked fine, put it back together and a component burst to flames. Got a replacement and now it's working fine. I was using Powerex 9.6v's. I am guessing some boards can take it and some don't. There are also reports that Vlocities don't like anything over 18v's.

The two we have seen had the wires that were attached to the battery reversed and we were only using standard 9v, no rechargeables.

alright so i got a new main board and im using regular duracell batteries so it seems to have been the rechargable batteries that i was using thatfried my board a viewloader rep said that some rechargables hold a higher charge then what they are supposed to and the vlocity is sensitive to that so yea

I know this is an old thread, but this is why I bought a VIRTUE CHIP. Its factory approved., in case something does go wrong. My VLocity spins like a champ with no issues.
